offsite link The Truth About Britain?s Wildfires Thu Aug 21, 2025 15:00 | Paul Homewood
It is simplistic to blame the recent spike in wildfires on climate change, writes Paul Homewood. A more likely cause is the rewilding of uplands, supposedly to cut carbon emissions, and poor management of forested land.

Activities such as kayaking, cycling tours, hiking as well as a range of workshops run by CSers like photography, salsa, set dancing and more will be offered throughout the course of the weekend.

Some of the activities offered include:-

Kayaking:
- There is a little round lake with a small island in
the middle (another one) and this is perfect for
kayaking.
- race or just a paddle around with small (row) boats
available (fancy romantic?)
- down the river: the camp owners would take us up
stream and from there we can descend in 4 or more hours
of slow and fast stream rafting back to camp

Cycling:
- Sally Gap Tour: the camp owners would take us up with
the van and people can chose between long and short
distance track with a possible visit to Glendalough and
back to the camp in as much time people would like to
take.

CS Irish Olympic Games:

- kayak race (5 euros p.k)
- Bowling
- Horseshoes and boots tossing
- Football
- Ultimate Frisbee

Watch this space for more information!!! If you want to organise a workshop please get in touch with the organisers!

Night pub - Music and Dance:

We just need to bring our own musicians!

If you are a musician/DJ and you want to volunteer your services please get in touch with one of the organisers!

Charges and Fee:
