Porsche has scrapped its sales targets for EVs amid a slump in demand. A previous goal of 80% by 2030 has been watered down and the company now says sales will depend on uptake and how the technology develops.

Labour is "mission-driven", says Keir Starmer. But the last thing anyone should want is a Government with a mission, says David McGrogan. That's because a Government with a mission needs conscripts. That's you and me.

Student say Yes to Lisbon... apparently

According to 'Generation Yes', who sported their t-shirts with the boys wearing a blue top with ''Yes, Yes, Yes'' and the girls wearing pink saying ''I only Kiss boys who say Yes'', say the ''EU is Ireland's best friend''.

First and foremost, the group is ''grassroots'' and is ''Independent''. But they fail to mention the campaign director is Andrew Byrne, a former Trinity College students’ union president. He is now a member of the Green Party. Hazel Nolan a UCC student and a member of the Labour Party, was involved with the Alliance for Europe in last year’s campaign. Doesn't sound too independent to me.

Anyway, I looked at their website and it is pure garbage. Its disgusting and offending to think there are students out there with this attitude. If you want to get in touch with the propagandists or read their rhetoric, heres the link...

Disgusting and offending? Em, why? Because they have a different opinion to you? I don't really see why you can be disgusted or offended by the content of the website, sure, you can disagree on political grounds, but it's hardly the most kneejerk, in your face partisan of websites, is it now?

That's a great website.

I've changed my mind.

I will certainly vote YES to Lisbon next time.

New pro-lisbon group armed and ready for university campaign
The no side must be ready to counter this very well funded and very well prepared outfit that will blitz universities in September with pro-Lisbon propaganda. We need our own youth wing in response
Having attended their presentation in guess where - IBEC Headquarters - to ask a few awkward questions i have to say i was blown away with their preparedness. These guys mean serious business. They have already raised a tidy 20,000 quid and expect to raise a spanking 150,000 quid. Hell of a lot for a bunch of students but not when you remember where the meeting took place.
But forewarned is forearmed. We need to organise in preparation for fresher's week in all the universities to get the no message out there and to counter their misleading claims about the treaty.
The yes side are going all out for victory and we will have to match them every step of the way.

Its no good. People are like sheep. With the level of fear and loathing thats going around these days people are just going to vote Yes out of fear of the recession. The No side cannot counter the panic factor that the recession has brought about. Everyone I have spoken to who voted No last time is voting Yes this time because they think it will make the recession worse if they vote No again.

Im afraid thats what we're up against this time.
