Ed Miliband has just agreed to pay 58% more for renewable energy and barefacedly claimed it will lower bills. The Government's green agenda is based on lies upon lies upon lies upon lies, says Ben Pile.

We still haven't learnt the lessons from the Grenfell fire, says Margaret Rothwell. To stop it happening again, we need intelligent alarms, second staircases, firemen's lifts and the retrofitting of sprinklers.

Keir Starmer seems to be confused about who's running the country, calling Rishi Sunak "Prime Minister" five times today. It's a sign he isn't taking responsibility for his Government's decisions, says Laurie Wastell.

Mothers Across the World for Gaza - Ballybofey

category donegal | anti-war / imperialism | event notice author Thursday February 05, 2009 14:37author by George Rowauthor email gh_row at yahoo dot co dot uk Report this post to the editors

Reading the names of the children killed in Gaza.

This is part of a global solidarity event taking place across the Middle East, Europe, the US and Canada, marking the 40th day commemoration of the death of the first child in Gaza.

Synchronised events are taking place around the world in:
Amman, Beirut, Ballybofey, Derry, Dubai, Edmonton-Alberta, Helsinki, Manchester, Nablus and Palo Alto-CA and other places.

Through the simple act of reading aloud the names of the children killed we aim to counteract the dehumanisation of the casualties as cold statistics.

This event is taking place on the Main Street in Ballybofey, (by the Balour Arts Centre) at 3:00 pm on Sunday 8th February 2009.

Men, women and children are invited to join us as we offer our support and condolences to the mothers of Gaza. We will be reading the names of more than four hundred children killed by Israel's attack on Gaza.

These simultaneous gatherings of mourning are called to counteract the de-humanization of the children, women and men killed in the Israeli war on Gaza, by reciting out loud the name of each child killed by Israel's attack.

This event is organised under the auspices of 'Mothers Across the World for Gaza', but you don't have to be a mother to take part.

We invite everyone from Ballybofey, and Donegal as a whole, who wants to express their support for the people of Gaza to come along on Sunday. Whether it is to listen, or to share in the reading of the names, everyone will be welcome to take part.
