Put your ideals into practice
Medical humanitarian aid agency, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), to hold Information Evenings in Dublin on Tuesday, 19 Feb 2008 and in Cork on Wednesday, 27 Feb 2008. All welcome to attend
At the MSF Information Evenings returned aid workers will share their experience of providing independent medical relief on the ground with MSF. It's an ideal opportunity to talk with MSF aid workers to find out how you can get involved, to learn more about MSF's approach to humanitarian relief and about it's projects across the world. Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is the leading non-governmental organisation for emergency medical aid. The 1999 Nobel Peace Prize-winning agency provides independent medical relief to victims of war, disasters and epidemics in 60 countries around the world, treating those who need it most, regardless of ethnic origin, religion or political affiliation. To get access to, and care for, the most vulnerable, MSF remains scrupulously independent of governments, as well as religious and economic powers. We rely on private individuals for the majority of our funding.
MSF Ireland was set up in 2006 to recruit both medical and non-medical volunteers for MSF projects across the globe, to raise awareness of the situations facing people in the countries where we work, to provide information and to raise vital funds.
Both the Cork and Dublin Information Evenings are open to the public and admission is free.
