Campus Copycat? or Tech Copycat? the NASA shootings

category international | sci-tech | other press author Saturday April 21, 2007 08:57author by obit Report this post to the editors

The President Johnson Center of NASA in Hueston Texas was seen to shooting less than 4 days after suggestible and gullible world viewers had begun to absorb the V Tech Blackburg Massacre.

Information on the man who alledgedly broke into the facility without proper ID, being stopped, retina scan, finger-print analysis or voice-print is reported as having taken a hostage who was killed. The man then commit suicide. This is not the worst massacre in US tech facility history & will not usurp the legacy of Columbine. But it is the worse massacre in NASA ground history but not as bad as the legacy of Columbia

PERSONALITY

local news gatherers and law makers suggest the man was a formerly happy employee who turned disgruntled but still would have had the ID or properly coloured jumpsuit to get past facility security if not actually into the driving seat or buffet section of a reusable space craft.

Our moonbase is safe.

The BBC have offered us today a few closing words on the NASA shootings which took place at communications building 44 in the Johnson Space Center,Hueston, Texas made famous through such memorable lines as "Heuston we have a problem". http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6580421.stm
William Phillips unlike last week's shooter Chong Cheesie Cho held his gun (a revolver) legally. There was no reason to refuse him sale of either ammunition or guns - unlike Mr Cho who was barred by Virginia state law from purchasing such things on account of him being a known nutter.
Mr Phillips who was 60 years of age, was unmarried & had worked for NASA for 12 years. He had recently not enjoyed a negative progress appraisal review. In other words he was crap at his job and it got written down in his file under the heading "CRAP 60 year old". Mr Phillips blamed a fellow worker, 62 year old David Beverly for his crap-ness & that's why he shot him twice, left the room hyperventilated a bit and then went back and put two more in him. This left him with no option but to put his last cap in his skull. Which he did - dying shortly thereafer after making full use of the revolver he had bought only a month ago & we note : scruplously following safety instructions and only loading it with 5 bullets.

The USA breathed a sigh of relief & everyone forgot about VT Blackburg and started talking about Columbine again. It happened 8 years ago & we still have people resisting early retirement. The French people have rushed to the ballot boxes today to finally elect president lepen & offer Europeans someone they could genuinely oppose - though they might fk it up again. - they usually do.

Shall we??Mr Cho was entitled to buy the guns as he had the correct paperwork an student ID ,a drivers liscense and a cheque book.Which was all he required, pls he passed the "sure to reduce gun deaths Brady law"instant backround check,[and he was over 21].Which is a huge Federal database of criminals, nutters, peacenicks and other undesireables disentitled from purchasing firearms in the US.As he was not a regd nutter,he came up clean and was entitled to purchase. Not to mind that VA campus was a "gunfree campus".What better place to start slaughtering??
Not that it says much for the intellectual elite of the US.So apatheytic that young strong people like football jocks and other athlets couldnt rush this weed and disarm him.Have they already forgotten Flight 93's heros??That the only person who offered resistance wasan elderly survivor of the holocaust.VAs young people should hang their heads in shame...Die at least resisting, dont just sit there and be slaughterd like a sheep.

Just carry sea-angling fishing line with you in your school satchel. When your shooter is out of sight or attention is busy elsewhere simply lay a quick trap. If you don't know how - you don't deserve to be on campus. But simply put - tie the line (known as a tripwire) at approx the height of two hands in a straight line where you expect your shooter to go or where you can encourage your shooter to go. Once the shooter has tripped smash his or her brains in or at least till they stop twitching. If this is too gorey for you, simply tie a handgrenade to the end of the tripwire, remember you tie the "pin" not the actual shrapnel body. ( Hand-grenades can be bought quite easily over the net. ) Remember to position the grenade on the same side of the wall as your shooter and position yourself (& fellow students) on the other side. Try and get a proper wall not one of those plasterboard partition things. This is for your own safety

Many of us unfortuanately lack the foresight to carry Sea-angling fishing line or handgrenades with us to our commercial and retail malls, places of education, first visits to the USA to collect awards or anywhere else a shooter might be. This doesn't mean though we have to written off just yet. There is a psychological approach to these things which ought be at least attempted before you start using Holocaust victims as human shields.

Remember unless someone has given it serious practise - shooting a handgun with any degree of accuracy over a distance of 100 metres is quite a challenge. If your campus or other scene of massacre offers you at least 100 metres distance from the shooter - you'll probably be ok ducking and diving behind something solid such as a car, desk, tree or Coca Cola vending machine.
If though you are within a shorter firing range (say 3 to 10 metres) ducking and diving might not really be a good idea. The Human being is not really designed for ducking and diving you see - we came out of Africa on foot and are designed to walk or run. Remember that. After giving this matter almost 15 minutes of my full intellectual abilities I've decided the best way of approaching this problem is really psychological. Shout the power of Christ compels you! whilst throwing books and other typical school equipment at not only the shooter but the windows as well. Make sure your peers follow your chant and make sure all those windows are broken. If you are in a room which is than 15 metres from the ground you could consider jumping but it will hurt thing is to relax and take a deep breath before you "drop" from the window sill the object of the exercise here is to absorb the shock of impact in hands and feet - not to drive your leg bones up through your torso and out your mouth.

No-one can underestimate the benefits of humanizing the situation. Ask the shooter questions. why did you just blow Marvin away? what did he do to you? might seem reasonable but........... gauge the mood. Under no circumstances opt for TV banter such as give me the gun dimmy. in real life it comes over as really banal. It would probably be in your best short-term interest to establish how your contact is working by asking the shooter to take someone else out. " shoot Dunk he says you're a jerk" if shooter then shoots Dunk you're almost home and dry in the short-term but come the Feds or law enforcers you might just be arrested for accesory to homocide depending on how they take the whole thing.

Honestly smashing the windows, lights and yelling religiously will throw spanners in the works. Stop your shooter thinking he or she is alpha animal. They are not. You are. Believe in yourself. If you've found this advice helpful you can always order a hard copy of the pamphlet "stopping bullets" by Iosaf mac d. State restrictions might apply. Send no money now.

1) stalker / hunter : this type will take time over their kills and enjoy them, at most extreme they'll take souvenirs such as your classmates' ears. The stalker hunter is the 2nd most dangerous of the shooter types you might encounter in an environment like a campus. Do not interact with the stalker/hunter - no chatting - no appraisal - no "why did you shoot marvin / shoot dunk" you will recognise the stalker / hunter by the high accuracy of their shooting, the type of weapons they use and how quietly they do it. They might taunt you - remember you're alpha but the "power of christ compels you" line won't help much. You really need to get into the roofspace & come down on them from above or use the fire emergency system. Remember a fire extinguisher is good close combat weapon and the fire hose packs a wallop. If you're stalker hunter is over 2.4 metres high and wearing molybdenum-carbon fibre body armour with dreddlocks - you've got to change priorities. They're not really your problem, avoid large pickled eggs and get as far away as you can from the nest during daylight hours. Send me an email or post your alert on the appropriate website & before most readers have worked this cultural reference out, Sigourney Weaver will be around and everything will be hushty. ok?

2) jilted lover. This type of shooter is really the simplest to deal with. Unless you're the jilter - you don't really need to worry much about this type of shooter you'll probably do a quick evacuation alert and just around the arrival of the first news choppers it will all be over until the deceased attorneys sort out the movie rights. I do hope you're appreciating the american vocabulary and style. It's a real effort for me. The jilted lover is the only type of shooter who will show any interest in taking hostages. Set up a BSM group on campus and experiment with different tying techniques and learn when your muscles are slack or flexed they occupy different volume. Remember the larger volume when you're being tied to that chair. Don't push your appraisal of the shooter too quickly, that will only end in you being gagged all the sooner. Wait for a while before striking up that conversation. It is a generally accepted guideline that morbid topics of conversation are real downers for anyone. Don't ask about Marvin or Dunk. Asking for water is a must. & remember to time your first wee wee before that water - this is your opportunity to re-establish dominance. Remember the moment a shooter comes at you - you are alpha not them. Doesn't mean you start go ordering. Influence is best. If you're gagged practise going blue in the face. If your shooter wanted to kill you they wouldn't have tied you to a chair.

3) Gun-toting Messiah - now this is the type the "power of christ compels you" and breaking the windows and altering the environment and taunting will really serve you well with. The general idea here is to change the parameters & work with not against the chorus of voices driving your shooter around.

4) the Mind control experiment shooter - will display traits of both first and third types. Watch out for "scanning" movements of the head with a slight jerk at the end of the curve. Contrary to telly impressions your average mind control experiment shooter will not have a bald patch or any obvious scarring on the forehead nor blink incessantly. But you will notice a tendency to sniff. If your shooter sniffs a lot whilst moving and not just standing still & afterwards makes no sarcastic comment or unkind remark you've got a MCE and not a stalker-shooter. Very little is in the public domain on the best ways of stopping a MCE & for obvious reasons. Too much talk about the typical MCE will only encourage the appropriate military tech producers to fast forward the release dates of newer and even better versions. They're a little bit like computers - only as good as the operating system, graphics card and legal standing of the licensed user. If ye start asking me now how to stop a MCE without getting specific we'll have Arnold Shwarzenegger as governer of California in no time.

5) the Professional. these are really very easy to spot but very difficult to remember. Contrary to telly impressions your average professional won't come through the window or be using the most expensive equipment. If you're being shot by a professional it is generally advisable not to start negotiation at less than double your own hit-cost. Keep tabs on how much you are worth dead and make sure you can arrange a wire transfer to any off shore account of at least treble that figure. Alas, doing a double cross is frowned upon in professional hit-person circles and it is generally better just to employ your own swat team or have an insurance policy of near planet changing consequences. Most people don't have either so your professional shooter will getr the job done & you as a witness won't really remember that much but remain traumatized. Interview all your workmates and most importantly the board of directors of your company if it is public or any academic staff in R&D on your campus & establish are they potential targets.
"a stitch in time saves nine" as the Borg say.

Didn't we all?
In this short little guide to surviving campus shootings & identifying the different types of campus or any large organisation shooter - only slight attention has been paid to Human evolution. We've seen how we really are designed to run away not duck and dive. We've touched on the very great importance of running as far away from the nest during daylight hours as is possible. I did though forget to add one detail about the dreddlocked molybdenum carbon fibre armoured stalker type. It could prove important. If you haven't noticed any pickled eggs or unusually large puddles of mucous on site - try and ascertain if your stalker is using a photon refraction cloaking device. It's quite simple really - if stalker seems to be invisible and only becomes visible when chopping someone's bits off - it could be more interested in you. Honestly.

But human evolution gave our far distant ancestors the abilities to throw small objects with remarkable accuracy and power. Almost all our Olympic style athletic past-times apart from the mind-blowing "step aerobic exercise" or chess will prepare even the most turgid and pacifist amongst us for self-defense or escape. You'll note that the sporty types escape such massacres leaving the intellectuals behind to bleed. But some more might usefully be said on the subject of "human instincts" now. Changing the parameters of the environment naturally include doing everything which makes it uncomfortable for a human being. Don't forget - being in such a situation is uncomfortable and you must be prepared to endure some level of personal annoyance. Break windows, light fires, set off fire system, free fire extinguishers and carry them, break lights, only barricade an area if you seriously intend on holding it and use your fire hose or fire pipe it honestly is the best tool you have at your disposal .

Remember if you bring down strip lighting whilst sprinklers are on chances are you will electrocute someone. This might be prove fatal. Do be careful. In a building like this my general advice would be to "go up". For a variety of reasons your shooter will not readily go up unless of the stalker/hunter type. Many people these days like to send emails during a shooting. Remember to keep them short and on topic. & be mindful that some internet providers or indeed websites monitor the content of their users. No extreme language, blasphemy or gorey descriptions.

If you remember the golden rules you will survive most shooting situations. A brief recap :
1) identify which type your shooter belongs to.
2) remember you are alpha.
3) let a gamma pretend to be alpha and test the situation for you. This is normal alpha behaviour.
4) use your environment and make it as unsettling for your shooter as possible - fire system, electricty & windows are the key words.
5) go up not down.
