Cllr. Joan Collins Election Rally

category dublin | politics / elections | event notice author Thursday April 19, 2007 23:27author by CWAG - Community & Workers Action Group Report this post to the editors

Official Launch of Campaign

Cllr Joan Collins will officially launch her General Election campaign at a rally on Monday 23rd April at 8.00pm in the Marble Arch Pub (upstairs) on Davitt Road Drimnagh. Joan will be standing in The Dublin South Central Constituency as an Independent Socialist. The rally is being hosted by Community & Workers Action Group (CWAG)

Joan will be standing on her record of working with local communities on a whole range of campaigning issues including the struggle against developers attempts to replace factories with apartment blocks, the Bin Tax, keeping the Childrens Hospital in Crumlin and workers rights.

Joan Collins will oppose either coalition option after the election as neither Aherne/McDowell or Kenny/Rabbitte will bring about real change for ordinary working people. She will work with other socialists and like minded independents to build a real opposition both in the Dail and outside it. At the rally Joan will outline the key policy issues which will form her Election Manifesto.

Also invited to attend is Brid Smith who is also contesting for a seat in the same constituency. Brid is standing as a People Before Profit Alliance Candidate. A vote transfer pact has been agreed between Joan and Brid.

CWAG is confident that Joan Collins will poll very well. Private opinion polls conducted by the establishment parties have shown Joan contesting for the last seat. Already our early canvassing returns show great support.

All supporters from both within and outside the constituency are invited to attend. There is a real prospect for the Radical Left to win a seat here so be part of it and come along to the rally. The Luas stop at Golden Bridge is adjacent to the venue.

Joan Collins can be contacted directly at 086 3888 151 or e-mail dermotjoan@utvinternet.com

I will be voting for Eric Byrne, but I will transfer to Collins It would be great to have a couple of left wing seats in the most working class constituency in the country.

All the best

Good to hear Joan is getting such a good response. It would be great to see her do well.
