The True Horror of Iraq

category international | anti-war / imperialism | other press author Thursday September 28, 2006 18:33author by Pray for Peace Report this post to the editors

A video tells a thousand words

Olin Eugene Armstrong, Jr., (June 5, 1953 - September 20, 2004) an American contractor working in Iraq for the construction firm Gulf Energy Company of the United Arab Emirates, was beheaded on September 20, 2004 by the Tawhid and Jihad, a militant group led by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is believed to have personally beheaded Armstrong. The following day, the group beheaded another hostage, American Jack Hensley, and threatened to kill their third hostage, Briton Kenneth Bigley, unless the United States met their demands to free all women prisoners in Iraqi jails.

Armstrong, also known by his nickname "Jack", grew up in the south-central Michigan community of Hillsdale, where he lived until 1990.

This is how he died on September 20, 2004
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncdyBjd1Csw

The video shows five masked men in black standing behind the kneeling figure of Olin Eugene Armstrong clad in an orange jumpsuit.
The middle man presumably Al-Zaraqawi himself reads from a white sheet of paper and then produces a large knife and as the other men hold down his victim slowly slices his head from his body.

You must answer truthful - should the world abandon the Iraqi people to murderers like these who slaughter helpless captives like animals?

Since then thankfully Al-Zaraqawi gone his reward.
But many more deserve the same.

There is a better way than war but what other option can there be against such barbarity that bombs and slaughters

Everyday scores of Iraqis appear on the streets of Baghdad and elsewhere beheaded, shot or tortured with drills, electric shocks, mutilation, sodomisation, castration, evisceration etc etc.

Sunnis terrorists, Shia terrorists and indeed rogue members of the Iraqi police and army are surely responsible venting their sectarian hatred on the helpless and powerless.

It is the duty of the free world to enforce the democratic will of the Iraqi people who voted for parliamentary democracy in the elections of 2005.

Only the US is prepared to stay but look how their macho heavy handed soldiers have brutalised the Iraqi people too!

Why are there no French or German troops in Iraq?
Why have so many other European nations pulled out?
Why are there no Irish peacekeepers in Iraq?

Is it any wonder both the US and Al-Qaida and the so-called resistance do what they like?

Iraq must not slide into into worsebarbarity.

The people of Iraq deserve freedom, peace and prosperity.

What better tribute to the deaths of Armstrong and thousands upon thousands of Iraqis than to defeat these animals and save a nation from destruction.

Pray for Armstrongs soul and the souls of all the dead that they might find peace.

Please go and check a new study, here in Newswire, estimating the number of Iraqi deaths since 2003 to 665,000 (yes six hundred and sixty five thousand)!!

31% of those deaths are directly attributed to 'Coalition' forces!!

Your remedy : The only way out now is to split the country in three independent parts, a Kurdish, a Sunni and a Shi'ite state. Let them run their own affairs and let the invaders go home.

Your suggestion is to instigate civil war at an official level. Then leave. No.

Just leave, Apologise and leave, Turn their back and go home and dont look back. If the result is open civil war and the splitting of the country then so be it. If the result is a united Iraq, then so be it.

But America just needs to Apologise and leave in shame, and dont come back.

Who is we? Why don't YOU volunteer to help the iraqis? You don't get it? They don't want you, the US or the Brits etc in their country. The only way out now is to split the country in three independent parts, a Kurdish, a Sunni and a Shi'ite state. Let them run their own affairs and let the invaders go home.

Old Europe, Russia and China were telling the US that an invasion will spark a civil war and the break of the country. But the greed for oil was stronger than common sense.

Besides praying for peace (your title) is as bad as just talking and feeling self-satisfied as you put it. Keep me updated about your precise actions on how to help the iraqi people besides praying for them.

Do we let Iraqis die because we have disagreements with America over Kyoto?

The whole world must get involved and sort this mess - we cannot leave it to the Americans and we certainly cannot allow Iraq to a be a training ground for terrorists.

There are radicalised Muslims from Europe travelling to Iraq to fight jihad.
Whose to say they won't return and start and an insurgency in European cities?
How about a 7/7 or a Madrid in every city with a large Muslim population in Europe.

They hate America because they invaded their region and support Israel.

They hate us more because we are not prepared to do anything about it except talk and protest and then go home and fell self-satisfied.

" Why are there no French or German troops in Iraq?"

Because the USA did not listen to the warnings of France, Germany and Russia. All three countries made it clear that Iraq had no WMDs at the time. So, why should "Old Europe" sort out the mess for them, someone who is not willing to listen. Not to mention other issues i.e. Kyoto, International court of justice, ban of landmines etc.

Are u crazy or what ??????? Irish peacekeppers in Iraq, For what exactly. Our troops travel to uphold the law and protect and help the innocent. Can u just imagine the total confusion as our guys tried to prevent US troops from shooting women and children, bombing wedding receptions etc. They would need a zillion Irish troops to try and protect the innocent from almost daily acts of terrorism by the good guys.

I was talking about western intelligence services and who really might be behind those abductions and killings of aid workers. Its has almost become a reflex to immediately point the finger at muslims.

I can't believe this.
They are prepared to show videos of suicide bombers boasting before they go kill innocent Iraqis but they can't show the bloody reality of their savagery.

There are also swome 650000 christians and even a few jews in iraq. Some of them could well be involved with the nationalist or Ba'athist end of the resistance.

LIES, NO PROOF,are you seriously saying christians are involved in the resistance when the resistance is slicing off the heads of any christians they can find

get real, get educated, get a clue

How do you know Margaret Hassan the Irish aid worker was killed by Iraqi Muslims? Have you got first hand evidence? Besides, the largest section of the iraqi resistance is sunni secular, comes from the former baath regime and is not islamic fundamentalist

THEY ARE ALL MUSLIMS YOU DOLT!!

Besides, the largest section of the iraqi resistance is sunni secular, comes from the former baath regime and is not islamic fundamentalist.

Also, the american and british invaders are part of the problem and not the solution. The iraq people have already been abandoned for a long time. What else you call that what's going on there?

That video is truly sickening but everyone should see it.
RTE should show it.

What the US has done is stupid and barbaric, blundering into Iraq like a bull in a china shop.
There were no WMD.
There was no threat to the US from Saddam.

But now the situation has changed.

We cannot allow animals like these to force the West to abandon the Iraqi people.

Margaret Hassan, an Irish aid worker was opposed to the US invasion but she was still slaughtered in precisely the same way.

I think Bush is an idiot and Blair is a lapdog.

But Blair was right in his speech yesterday - it would be utter craven cowardice if Iraq and Afghanistan too were to be surrendered to these primitive Islamic fundementalist savages.

Iraqi people are just like us - they want to be free to live normal lives.

We have to help them.
