According to Norn Iron's top blog slugger O Toole, Daily Ireland have announced to staff that they are folding today.

Lots of discussion on slugger, not too much love for DI.

Best wishes to some of the excellent journalists that worked for DI. It was one place where the anti war movement, people who love Palestine, and people who care about poverty in this country got a fair hearing. I am very sorry to see it go.

We are left with almost nothing in print except what is owned by T O'Reilly :(

A sad loss for the British State who invested heavily in the Daily Ireland and its sister titles, Andytown news etc..,.
The closure of the Direland will leave an empty space in my life...beside my toilet bowl.
Another British owned rag bites the dust. Good Riddance.

Mairtin O Muilleoir's whining about the BRITS not Advertising with Daily Ireland has to be the most embarrassing statement to come from a Shinner since Adams nominated Paisley as First Minster.

Dry your eyes Mairtin, your paper was a propaganda rag for Adam's Partitionist Sinn Fein, it had nothing constructive to say except parrot the party line. At least the Irish News gave all sides a say!

I'd say it'll not be missed because only the most die hard supporters of Sinn Fein read it anyway, The rest read real papers.

Say Goodbye to the Daily Provo. Lets hope their other rag "An Saorstat/Adamsite Weekly" follows.
