Seed savers open day

Irish Seedsavers open day

There will be an open day at Seedsavers in Scariff, Co. Clare this Sunday.

This is a free event which will include talks, walks, organic food produce, puppet show, a sketching workshop, and lots of other stuff.

The climax is a performance by KILA.

Full programme:

SEED SAVERS OPEN DAY

Capparoe, Scariff, Co. Clare

SUNDAY 6TH AUGUST 12 NOON – 6P.M.

GUIDED TOURS OF THE GARDENS & ORCHARDS THROUGHOUT THE DAY

2 P.M. FR. SEAN McDONAGH speaking on

Genetically Modified Organisms

The consequences for food security & biodiversity worldwide.

This talk will be followed by a Q&A session with guest participant

Anja Murray Biodiversity Officer with An Taisce

2p.m & 4p.m. Nature walks for children with Felice Rae & Denise Brown

Organic food on sale all day

Rare trees, plants & seeds for sale,

Organic fruit & vegetables for sale

Craft stalls

Puppet show

Wildlife drawing workshop

Stone wall building demonstrations

Launch of 'SIOL' a CD featuring Martin Hayes, Kila, Kieran Hanrahan

& many other great musicians

followed by an informal music session – bring along your instruments & voices.

Parking at Capparoe for disabled people only

There are no other public parking facilities at Capparoe. A shuttle bus service (a 45 seater bus this time) will be in operation from the GAA ground, Scariff from12 noon to bring you out to Seed Savers & return you to your car later.

€2 round trip per adult (children free).

THIS EVENT IS FREE – DONATIONS WELCOMED

...but we're not cycling all the way from Dublin!!

A group of Dublin community gardeners will be getting public transport as far as Limerick and then cycling to the open day in Scariff.
