Physiognomy.

I am very concerned that too much attention is being given in Irish publick life and general discourse to small & confined groups of people. One lot use letters, Mr A., witness B., chid C., Fr D., ex-Fr E., on holidays now still Fr F., not yet heard victim G., not yet other heard victim H., seen on TV but not let in give testinomy victims I through to U, recently deceased person V, poor little case X,.............

need I go on?
Oh yes.
Then there's the Government & the news casters / readers / journalists, & the courts, & the really holy clergy, and Bono, who seem to get all the attention.
-
-

But I want to use this open publishing service to point out, that some government ministers don't seem to be on TV a lot. Watching Irish Telly these days, whether at home, work or abroad - You'd be forgiven for thinking Ireland is just about Violence, Abuse, the minister of Justice (and / or) the Judiciary and complete Legal self-regulating trade: made all the more poignant by the ocassional waddling entrance of Mary Harney - Why don't the rest of FF want to comment on the mess every aspect of our state is in from cancer to prisons, from education to you name it :-
..............physiognomy

Don't we have departments of education, local government, social & family affairs, science & the like?

Come on you little rascals! Don't just leave it upto Bertie & 9mm Willie O'Dea to save you some of the limelight for your contemptible misgovernment from that infernal combination of A,b;c;(n)+ victims or culprits & the worst ministers for Health - Children - Justice - Equality _ Law Reform
this state has ever had misfortune to endure

Ken Loach or the good people of Cork don't come into it.

Mr A. is 41 years of age. When he was a younger 38 years of age, he raped a 12 year old girl. (she didn't get a letter this time but she had one last time) Lets suppose she's all of 15 years of age now.
The state ( FF & PD government) that means lawyers acting on behalf of "you", have opposed the release & lost the case.

that means U just lost the case

where are the ministers for children, legal stuff & family? don't we get soundbytes?

* what will happen to Mr A now?
* will he get a name?
* is he to live happily ever after?
* will he be able to sue for compensation?
* will his record be scratched?
* what will happen to the girl who was formerly a letter but now is only 15?
* is this news?

He wont get compensation as the court of criminal appeal have to certify that a miscarriage of justice has taken place before you can seek compensation. obviously no such miscarriage tool place at the trial itself.

but i'm only a layman. any legal eagles out there?

Now Pat. C. can you confirm to us that Ireland is not a safe haven for underage sex till the FF/PD government decide, propose and see passed their new legislation to (in the words of the Taoiseach) "plug the loophope" or as I see it :-
Fill the appalling vista caused by a carriage & eight being driven at top speed through their lasting reputation.

Like which man is next? Tell us Michael but please do. You've been so silent. Why is that?
Why do you lap up the glory for being tough on foreigners, tough on hunger strikers, tough on smokers but when it comes to Appaling vistas you go so meek all of a sudden.

don't you know how resign?
its easy.
Get your secretary Mary Mc Cowan to type up this simple letter :-

An Taoiseach,
please accept my resignation.
yours etc.,
Big Swinging Mickey Mc Dowell.

cant say. i'm not a lawyer. but i hope any new law does take account of age differences. a 35 yr old having sex with a 15 yr old would be exploitive but a 18 yr old having sex with a 15 yr old wouldnt be exploitive imho.

But predictably only to attempt to exonerate the government... more specifically to exonerate one minister, of another party...

Raping kids has very little to do with finance, unless you're talking child prostitution or arranged marriages.
We'd put that under * socio-economic or * ethnic conditions to a long term solution.
Why did Mr Cowen make his statements?
Did the ministers for Education & Science, Family & Social affairs not want to? Or is it simply a question that neither Mary Hanafin or Seamus Brennan are well considered by the FF back-benchers?

It certainly can not be the case that Brian Cowen represents the constituency with the most such cases presently being "adjourned" by the High Court, even though we all know the "Offaly Question" is one that has vexed us. Without pausing to wonder at the possible & plausible un-constitutionality of so many High Court adjournments relating to a theme of certain "public scandal" and with the potential to bring down the government, or even suggesting that document shredder machines of Leinster House and Mount Street have been near over-worked these last days :-

I can only suggest to the reader, that Brian Cowen was sent out of FF HQ for the simple reason of political phsyiognomy

One Mr Brennan of the Dublin South constituency, received a quota and a third thus topping his constituency & enjoying teh kudos of being one of the first tippy toppy TD's. There will be a decent ministry in that for him now, won't there Bertie? For he said just enough at the worst time & need be rewarded.
The other one whose photo isn't here but signature is - may just have to think of another use for his constituency office. Yet the people the length of breadth of Eire who pay too much attention to elections (perhaps coz they vote) are lamenting a loss.

I just don't get it. Fine Lefty politicians are often more useful to their community outside of parliaments - it keeps them clear from the taunts and insults which take place in the chamber and the harrowing effects of being sidelined and typecast. Whereas ex-tanaiste's and the worst ministers of Justice in a state don't really have much to look forward to at all when they're percentage of votes cast falls to the level of a fringe nutter far right club. The Progressive Democrats lost the election folks. That was the goal. Maybe you had other goals, sorry if you're disappointed. But my one was more important in the long term. I assure you.

Physiognomy and many of its constructs are thoroughly discredited, but have a captivating appeal on so many levels. Galton exposed glass photographic plates to multiple exposures of subjects to build composite typographs of various subjects. Here is a modernised version I produced using Photoshopped multiple exposures from the media:

1. A composite of eighteen images of convicted child sex abusers.

2. A composite of images of ten convicted serial killers.

3. A composite of eight images of Irish catholic hierarchy named in court proceedings as having covered up clerical sexual abuse.

The images are very expressive and some viewers find them deeply affecting.
