The power outage in Spain and Portugal wasn't caused by extreme weather, but by an over-reliance on wind and solar. If the UK continues on its headlong path to Net Zero, we can expect similar failures.

Revolution in Italy, 1943-48. A new ISN Pamphlet available to download at irishsocialist.net

Revolution in Italy, 1943-48 ::::: A new ISN Pamphlet available to download at irishsocialist.net

The latest pamphlet from the ISN concerns the socialist movement in Italy between 1943 and 1948. It is available to download as an adobe PDF from the “pamphlets and articles” section of the ISN site.

:::::::::

Between 1943 and 1948 Italy was rocked by a massive protest movement that shook the foundations of its social structure. Although not as well known, the abortive revolution of these years can be compared with the upheavals of the Russian revolution or the Spanish Civil War. The ultimate defeat of the Italian movement can still tell us a lot about the failure of the socialist movement in the twentieth century - and how we can avoid repeating that failure.

This is a fascinating and extremely important period of european history, I'll look forward to reading it. Good to see the ISN coming out with more theoretical material, i'll comment on it after i've had a read of it.

This is real exciting stuff. I bet the workers of Ireland cannot wait to get their hands on copies. I predict a riot. Revolution is in the air.
While the majority of workers are dealing with silly issues like wages, health, education I am glad that someone has the intelligence to tell them about Italy over 50 years ago. Shame on the lumpen proletariat that they do not already know these facts.
I look forward to the next ISN pamplet , "Spartacus-a peoples leader."
Comrades, to the barricades.
