Festive revellers may have to be careful which tunes they pick for a Christmas sing-along down at the pub, as songs like ?Baby It?s Cold Outside?, ?Do They Know It?s Christmas??, and ?Jingle Bells? might offend the staff.

Podcasts are great. But by leading us to spend our time wearing headphones listening to others chat, they're leaving us more isolated than ever, says Joanna Gray. What we need are podcasts that bring us together.

Ógra Shinn Fein Banner Drop

Yesterday members of Ógra Shinn Féin, dropped a banner from the GPO in Dublin highlighting the Save 16 Moore Street Campaign.

Yesterday evening Republicans, members of Ógra Shinn Féin, dropped a banner from the scaffold that currently surrounds the GPO in Dublin highlighting the Save 16 Moore Street Campaign. The Gardaí, in a change to their usual historical role, actually removed these Republicans from the scaffold rather than hang them from it. Both Ógra activists who climbed the scaffold were arrest by our Free State gaurdians of the peace for apparantly 'displaying offensive material' (how easily some people are offended) and trespassing. Starsky and Hutch transported one of the activists to the station, speeding acrosss pedestrian areas of O'Connell St, spouting their usual anti-Republican vitriol. The other activist was transported in a mariah by some Gardaí drinking Bavaria lager (maybe they've been recently transferred from Donegal?) The activists were held in Store Street for over 3 1/2 hours before being released, but not before a visit from the friendly neighbourhood special branch men. The Save 16 Moore Street Campaign must continue until this important monument in Irelands revolutionary history is saved and converted into a museum for the people of Ireland The Gardaí, in a change to their usual historical role, actually removed these Republicans from the scaffold rather than hang them from it.
