Anti-Fur Demonstration To Show Bloody Side of Fur Industry

category dublin | animal rights | event notice author Thursday August 11, 2005 17:33author by Joanne Blackwell - ARANauthor email arancampaigns at eircom dot netauthor address ARAN Po Box 722 Kildare Report this post to the editors

ARAN Aims To Freeze Fur Sales This Coming Winter

Dear Animal Activists & Friends

ARAN will be staging a highly visual anti-fur demonstration on Grafton
Street ending up outside of Barnardo Furriers. Our aim is to freeze sales of
fur this winter and educate people that fur farms still exist here in
Ireland and that millions of defenseless fur bearing animals continue to be
tortured and murdered for their skin. www.caft.org.uk www.furisdead.com

When: Wednesday August 17th, 2005

Where: Barnardo Furs, Grafton Street, Dublin 2 - outside of Molly Malone's
Statue

Time: 12pm Sharp - 1pm

So what is going to happen? Wearing a full length fur coat that has being
donated to ARAN from a member of the public who now refuses to wear fur, an
activist will walk down Dublin's trendy Grafton Street where she will be
struck on the head and the 'fur' coat will be stolen by another activist,
fake blood will then fall from the activists mouth and face whilst she lays
'dead' outside of the fur store in front on a banner reading "What If You
Were Killed For Your Coat?" whilst other activists hold posters of a skinned
fox and passing out leaflets showing people the real side of the brutal
violent fur industry whilst chanting 'fur is dead' and some with 'blood' on
their hands chanting 'wear real fur - share the blame'

Similar demonstrations will also be taking place in Galway, Limerick, Belfast and Cork over the next few weeks

You are very welcome to attend this event as we will need extra colleagues
to pass out educational leaflets and please feel free to bring a friend too,
have a great day!

Thank you for all that you are doing to help animals,

The ARAN Team!
