My experience at the G8 was liberating as well as intense,relaxing as well as stressful,empowering as well as frightening at times and most of all engendered in me the true meaning of solidarity as thousands upon thousands of activists poured in to resist the 8-man team who think they can destroy OUR world.

WEDNESDAY 6/7

*Reports as they happened in the middle of Tuesday night,the night before the summit,when the protesters,mostly anarchists,left the camp in the dark and rain of night to go out into scotland and block all the routes leading to Gleneagles..Many blockades were successful for many hours,I and my Iirsh comrades were mostly on the M9 blockade attempt and a similar police decoy march which ended up in the Stirling Industrial mestate.Much property destuction took place which got most of the corporate/mass media headlines butthe area around the summit venue was paralysed for many hours successfully as a result.

THURSDAY 7/7

*How many in the Striling Camp felt when we heard about the London Bomb,Thursday 7th July.
The camp had been surronded by police in many different forms oearly Thursday morning from about 2.30.They had arrived with roughly 20 vanloads and 10 cars and had parked at the roundabout at the front of the camp.
Brief panic was soon quelled once information regarding the fact that they appeared not to have advanced from their disembarking position at the roundabout soon spread tjrough the emotion-filled camp and people went to sleep ( mostly) and awaited what the next morn would bring...*

Hers a great one!Channel nine news report on G8 clashes between heavily armed protesters with bins and trollies and defenceless riot police,first 45 seconds are interesting and contain some good front line footage,,then the stars arrive to save the day and Bono does his thing....yawn.
