"Short trip. Leaving Friday morning, July 1s Back in Ireland late on Sunday 3rd July. You will make most of the planned counter summit and the gigantic Make Poverty History rally on Saturday 2nd of July.Price approximately 100 euro "

"Long trip. Leaving Friday morning, July 1st, Return to Ireland following Thursday 7th July. We will have the full use of the coach while in Scotland, very handy for travelling to and from the different protests during the week. Price approximately 160 euro. "

the short trip seems pretty pointless.

The long trip has been cancelled mainly due to lack of interest. Most people can't get the time off work for a longer trip as they have booked holidays around that time as well.

Organising the Irish Barrio/ Climate Action at the G8
by Dissenter - DissentIreland Wednesday, May 25 2005, 1:55pm
national / anti-capitalism / event notice

Open to all

Teachers club 7.00pm wed 1st june

This is a public meeting open to all those interested in participating in protests around the time of G8 meetings. It is organized as part of the Dissent network, a broad band of groups and individuals across Europe, determined to resist the G8 meeting and equally determined to make the organizing and participation of this resistance as democratic, and transparent as possible. This is not about summit hopping, or campaign hopping for that matter either. It is about building sustainable links with all those choosing to get involved beyond the limiting weight of party politics, long after the military barricades that our ‘leaders’ hide behind have been removed from Gleneagles only to be erected again somewhere else, as they continue to consolidate power based upon the exploitation of people and the very planet we live on.

Scotland wicket-keeper Colin Smith could miss part of the forthcoming ICC Trophy because of work commitments. Smith is a police officer and has been told he will be needed for duty during the G8 summit at Gleneagles in July.
Cricket Scotland are holding talks with Grampian police about the matter, with Smith set to miss at least two, and possibly three, matches.
All-rounder Dougie Brown, meanwhile, will not play in their opening match against Oman on 1 July.
He will turn out for Warwickshire in a Twenty20 Cup match against Worcestershire on that date, the proceeds of which will go towards his benefit year.

The SWP like their protests to have absolutely no effect whatsoever so they arrange to be there when the people they are protesting against are not.

Just like the Dublin protests as Bush was landing in Shannon.

Compared with dissent who were also planning to accommodate people with both a long bus and a short bus, the short bus is timed to be there for the actual g8

the iawm cancelled their long bus claiming it was due to lack of interest, was it lack of interest on their part or other peoples?

Dissent had no trouble filling a ten day bus and we arranged our 3day to arrive on the day of barricading.

Look out impotent leftists - we are connected and compassion is powerful.

Maybe its because the krustys have no jobs and have all the time in the word unlike those of us who have jobs and can't go for a week. Reality of living under capitalism. Mr./Miss W may have the ability to spend a week in Scotland, many like myself who work and have used my hols up already to spend time with my family- can't. Did that ever occur to Mr/Miss. W, before he/she shouted their mouth off...

there are no krusties on the dissent long bus - as all the crustys are at the K-town festival (a crust utopia).

I work too, i got the time off, as did all the other one hundred people travelling with Dissent, still doesnt explain why the IAWM is missing the main day of action and opting for the reformist MPH rally.
