We are facing a radical agenda set by the progressive wing of the educational establishment, says Dr Stephen Curran. We should build on the past 14 years' foundation, not tear it down.

Day-to-day weather, with all its extremes, is "just weather", according to the IPCC. With their authority onside, we can shrug off the BBC's melodramatic climate reports and misinformation, says Mark Ellse.

The evil one is online

VATICAN CITY - Got a prayer or a problem for the new pope? Now you can e-mail him. Showing that Pope Benedict XVI intends to follow in the footsteps of John Paul II's multimedia ministry, the Vatican on Thursday modified its Web site so that users who click on an icon on the home page automatically activate an e-mail composer with his address.

In English, the address is benedictxvi@vatican.va. In Italian: benedettoxvi@vatican.va.

People of all persuasions are welcomed and encouraged to sign:

http://www.petitiononline.com/B6U6S6H/petition.html

To: His Holiness, Benedict XVI, Pope and Bishop of Rome

Your Holiness:

Please be assured of our prayers on your behalf as you take on the responsibilities of the Petrine Office.

Jesus of Nazareth calls all men and women, in all times, and especially in these challenging days, to take up their Cross and follow Him. [Matt. X: 38; XVI: 24; Mark VIII: 34; Luke XIX: 23; XIV: 27].

We witness today prominent men who flippantly call on the Holy Name [Ex. XX: 7] to bless and sanction their criminal acts and take unto themselves the title "Christian". Yet, the Lord Himself warns that "not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." [Matt. VII: 21.]

"Blessed are the peacemakers", He assures us, "for they shall be called the children of God. [Matt. V: 9.]

Liars, on the other hand, are the children of Satan, because the devil is the father of lies. [John VIII: 44].

St. Paul admonishes us: "Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them." [Eph. V: 11].

We respectfully urge you to consider the state of the world today, in the light of Sacred Scripture and the Apostolic Tradition, in particular the prophesies of Daniel, Paul and John and to expose and repudiate George W. Bush as the "Man of Sin" [II Thess. II: 3], the "Beast" [Apocalypse XI: 7] and the very Antichrist [I John II: 18].

Sincerely,

The Undersigne

Wikipedia whose quick response to benedict xvi was remarked on in these comments-

has now entered a phase of critical editorial challenging, the first of its kind, on the decision by the wiki people (mostly live in Texas) to remove the war time record of Joseph Ratzinger from the biography they published for him on his election as pope.
You may also see a photo of him in his war-time record at those comments.

Meanwhile according to swissinfo, the general stabbing of italian press led by repubblica (also aluded to in those comments) is that ratzinger entered the conclave with deals and so made before to carry on the continuity of the church, _yet did not choose Jonh paul 3 as name_ and with the warning to avoid a "long conclave" which would make people in "media land" think the church was divided. It has to be noted that german and swedish and dutch media titles were disparaging of the election of benedict xvi, the largest german tabloid front covered "ach mein gott" which is hardly avoiding jokes. Whereas the spanish dailies varied from "habemus ratzinger" to " hard pope" to "benedict xvi" as headlines and today rather curious national stereotyping appeared in all daily newspapers in France, Spain and Portugal, with cardinals depicted goosestepping, ratzinger depicted in a prussian spikey hat (bit silly prussia was lutheran) and so on so forth.
(alluded to in the comments)

So far three theologically qualified challengers have briefed the world media on their thoughts, two are Roman catholic Boff of South america and Kung of germany, (alluded to in the comments to our big "pope file") and one Anglican the archibishop Desmond Tutu (black chap).

Today the spanish voted to approve homosexual civil unions, something that is likely to rub against the grain of the newly enthroned pontificacy but has met with less media objection that in the past. Perhaps due to the recent surprise election of a basque bishop to the job of chairman of the spanish bishops long held by a castillian ultra-conservative. The Spanish government have expressed their wish to continue "in continuity" with the Vatican as is like the 400+ years way.

For their part the U$A RC church and evangelical christians found an ally in Ratzinger's crew in these last years on the "life" question. Quite odd considering the amount of money poured into biotech and war, they agree on life support machines as proved by the Shiavo case brought by her Schindler parents, and the "excommunication" of John Kerry by God's reitweiller.

(its all in the comments & visual images we use some people get robbed and need dough [passover joke] too clever by half)
