Freedom for Alternative Political prisoners of Peru!

category international | crime and justice | press release author Monday January 03, 2005 01:10author by peru Report this post to the editors

Democracy for Peru. Liberty for Peru. the Real Stuff. not more of your shite.

ARTICLE 89º OF THE PERUVIAN CONSTITUTION.

democracy please.
no more soldiers on coke.
no more media games.

"The leader of the armed faction will surrender his weapon at 12h00 local time tomorrow." said President Toledo named after the famous spanish inquisition torturer.

The Peruvian people have been a witness of the judgment that the State has carried out on Vladimiro Montesinos Towers (VMT) the former head of the Service of National Intelligence (SIN) and a double agent, who bribed almost all the politicians, military, artists, pseudointelectuales, journalists, even unto former footballers, ballerinas, etc, who knelt before the fascism of dollar$, that the complicity reached to Fujimori. This judicial-reality act show, was transmitted live, on open and cable channels, even the state channel gave it space, "with the honours that deserves" the investiture of a murderer and a traitor to the country Vladimiro Montesinos Towers VMT. Thus it is, we saw parade some of those involved in the offices by which the country has to foreign businesses been given, agreed as to sink -by means of the press liquor- to some personalities, like to play with the misery of the Peruvians, as to dictate the editorial line to the mass media, -above all to the television channels-, among others machiavellian agreements. We observe generals "repenting", businessmen with alzeheimers, the provocative dresses of the former lover of VMT, Jackeline Beltrán, and servile and worthy journalists.
There it is the point of the matter,
the judgment was seen,
listened to and analyzed by many.
We imagine a judicial process from the epoch of fujimorismo, how to play with the misery of peruvians, how to dictate the editorial lines of media above all TV stations, including other machievalian mechanisms.

the above was published by peru indymedia as its feature article.

Swissinfo says the Peruvian government are denying an imminent attack and manipulation of the media is at fault.

Peruvians it appears of "our indymedia generation" have been saying manipulation of media has been at fault for a long time.
Democracy is not enough if it just allows a corrupt class bought by US imperialism to continue US imperialism in another way. That is neo-orangism.
And we know what happens to Neo-Oranges
¿don't we?

Do you love us Mr Bush?
We get a déjà vu feeling.
Everyone important you met in the last four years, the Presidents, the King the Queen the Pope say the love us. Do you love us too?
Or do we have to go chinese?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/spanish/latin_america/newsid_4140000/4140565.stm
and that this is an isolated incident which might take on a national character, (but probably not ultra right as the peruvians just want "not to go back to dictatorship but to go forward to democracy)

The Peruvians of our generation just dont want to go back to dicatorship and snakes in the jungle, they want to go forward to full and fair democracy.

(which has now ended with the arrest of the leader of the armed faction)

"The Stupidity of the Pistol"

Jose Maria Arguedas, professed a deep love of his "patria", its customs and orgins. Today in the land of Jose Maria Arguedas "patria" is confused with Nazi-sim. Andahuaylas, in the andean region of Apurimac, is a very economically poor city, which only recently received help from "el Proyecto Las Bambas". (regional structural and other development) Since the 1st of January, the occupation of the police station in Andahuaylas by 150 people who called themselves "etnocaceristas" has been the news. They are members of the Popular National Movement led by an ex-soldier Antauro Humala and his family, who entered the police station and took police officers as hostages as they celebrated the New Year.
With 5 dead in these last days, Humala's group demanded the abdication of President Toleda and his cabinet attacking David Waisman, (for being jewish) and the Minister of Defense Roberto Chiabra, and other members of the FFAA. [since 2001 the governing party]
We remember the words of Isaac Humala: "we think about being a government, to establish a genuinely democratic government". The commercial media (e.g. Channel 5) concentrated on showing the bodies of dead police officers, they showed no contemplation (of the effects) of broadcasting naked blood drenched bodies. And all this show of uniforms pushed up the sensationalist TV viewer ratings.
The ultra nationalist group has had many problems in 2004, having been attacked by other simliar political groups (on the right), and having confronted the police on numerous occassions.
The coca growers leader Nelson Palomino broke his relations with Humala when he saw that they wished to use the cause of coca grower to advance their political agenda. Saying he woul leave the question of coca production (and thus cocaine production) to the growers but the question of the military to himself alone.
The head of the council of ministers, Carlos Ferrero, has dismissed the possibility of dialogue with the reserve soldiers led by Humala, and has declared that the armed forces (under his control) are enforcing order as of 06.08 pm (local time) of the 3rd of January.

Humala changed his positions a lot, intially he would not move till Toledo left power, later he contradicted the orders of his brother Ollanta Humala, deciding to hand in arms (3rd of Jan), then cancelling that order, asking for the "defensive presence of the people" on the street,- the streets around the police station are filled with military armed to the teeth.

At any moment there could be a massacre involving both sections of the military....

(above is a paraphrase translation)
[the most important bits are - "many different types of politicised military" - "too many guns" - "unpopular government" - "coca production by the poorest is a political issue which allows the poorest to be pawns by the richest transnational criminals and ultra right military" - "peruvians are sick of it" - "TV that starts your year off with dead bodies on the street is bad for your psychological health, and your confidence in democracy". "peruvians may be sick of it, but they dont want neonazis taking advantage of them being sick of it]

repeat:-The Peruvians of our generation dont want to go back to dicatorship or being "looked after by soldiers or ex-soldiers" nor do they wish to live in a state where the resources are stolen by a corrupt political class, and the media is controlled and population manipulated. they want to go forward to full and fair democracy.

on the attack-
http://www.peru.indymedia.org/news/2005/01/12925.php/
on the NGO response (or lack of it)
http://www.peru.indymedia.org/news/2005/01/12950.php/

Maybe Kofi Anan's replacement at the UN "The Next Mister Brown" will have had learnt something from Paddington Bear and Aunty Lucy and have the strength of character and support to end Corruption in the 3rd world. Or at least get it down to normal levels, like you find in Europe. (the sarcasm bites)
