32 County Sovereignty Movement Praises Brendan O'Connor's Release.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The 32 County Sovereignty Movement is thankful to hear of the release earlier today of Republican prisoner Brendan O'Connor from Pomeroy. Brendan was arrested and detained by British occupation forces and detained in Maghaberry Jail on an alleged charge of conspiring to destroy Stewartstown Police station with an explosive device in July 2000. Ever since his arrest the 32 County Sovereignty Movement along with the Irish Republican Prisoners Welfare Association had expressed our concern over what we considered to be trumped up charges against him. Again, as in the case of Martin Brogan, Mark Carroll and Seamus Dohert (all of whom have likewise been released) the issue at the heart of the matter is one of 'dodgy evidence' and the likelihood of tampering and fabrication surrounding supposed DNA finds. |
