Lord Hutton got Pinochet off the hook, and now Blair

category international | anti-war / imperialism | opinion/analysis author Wednesday January 28, 2004 23:29author by Eoin Dubsky Report this post to the editors

Lord Hutton, who announced his retirement weeks before publishing his report today should be remembered as the man who saved Pinochet and Blair from justice.

The BBC News website writes:

"Lord Hoffman had contributed to a decision that the former Chilean leader could be arrested and extradited for crimes against humanity without emphasising his own links to human rights group Amnesty International.

"Lord Hutton said 'public confidence in the integrity of the administration of justice would be shaken' if Lord Hoffman's ruling was not overturned. "

Being a free mason is one thing, but for a judge to have links to an organization dedicated to the rule of international humanitarian law and eradication of torture... what would the public think?!

Denning said pretty much the same in the Birmingham 6 case. Maybe they go through rote learning in Judge school?
I think you'll find with fish of the size you thought to be hooked (like blair and co) that fly and lure with net is better Eoin.
For Mr Blair we must spend a long time re-stitching the nets. In fact almost too long, which is why sometimes it is better to breed a predator.

Blair got off scot free.
What are you gong to do about?
Wave some placards shout some slogans?

Meanwhile Tony and Cherie and gently titter as they have breakfast in bed and flick through the outraged polemic of the newspapers.
Tony turned to Cherie." Do you want to make love all afternoon baby?"
"You bet ya studmuffin!" she replies.

Socialist Worker No 1886 - 31 January 2004

BLAIR GETS AWAY WITH FEES AND MURDER

REGIME CHANGE NOW!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

New left opposition launched - join the Respect coalition

THE RATS stayed aboard the sinking ship.

Tuesday's vote on top-up fees left Tony Blair and the New Labour clique holed below the waterline. But he survived because 85 percent of Labour MPs bailed him out by disgracefully voting to price working class children out of university.

And, in advance of the Hutton inquiry, they swore loyalty to the man who took us into the criminal Iraq war.

Against all this the launch of a new left wing election coalition is a beacon of hope. Some 1,500 people attended the founding of the Respect coalition last Sunday.

Film director Ken Loach told them, "There is no longer any democratic representation for working people. This Labour government has carried out an illegal war and privatisation, disregarded the rights of asylum seekers and become an agent of big business. We are creating a viable alternative to New Labour."

Mark Serwotka, general secretary of the PCS civil servants' union, said, "Do we want to restrict our choice to Blair, Howard or Kennedy? I defy anyone to say we do not need an alternative. We agree on so much. An alternative is possible."

Anti-war campaigner Salma Yaqoob said, "We have marched together in protest at the war. On the day of the European and London elections on 10 June we have to march together to the ballot box."

George Galloway MP, who was expelled from the Labour Party for opposing the war, is part of the Respect coalition. He told Socialist Worker, "New Labour in both its wings-Blair and Brown-has betrayed the country and its students. The Respect coalition is the historic work of a new political force.

"If we can keep our unity, we can turf out of their seats those who have misgoverned the country."

This story is entirely a media frenzy and does not interest working class people in the slightest. Unfortunately, nobody has a lot of sympathy for someone who takes the easy way out and kills themselves (unless they're a schoolkid).

author by jamespublication date Fri Jan 30, 2004 09:41author address author phone Report this post to the editors

David you have some cheek to write that nobody has sympathy for someone who takes the easy way out aka suicide. Have you any idea what its like to be mentally ill (apart from your obvious sociopathic tendencies)and live in torture and see no way out of the misery it makes your life????
Do you KNOW anyone who has committed suicide? I have had 2 friends kill themselves at age 16 and 18yrs old, one drowned in Blessinton lakewhile the other lad hung himself from the attic door and was found by his parents. Have you any idea what the families go through??? You are such an ignorant asshole to have said what you did.
Suicide victims and their families deserve sympathy and understanding not derision from the stupid and ignorant.

author by stevepublication date Fri Jan 30, 2004 20:23author address author phone Report this post to the editors

f~~~ you and your 'working class' bullshit. your nothing but an ignorant fool - not some self-styled spokesperson for the 'working class'. Dont be so arrogant to think your lack of sympathy (or lack of experience in the reality of suicide) can be extended to anyone else.

note to IMC:
if you remove this comment due to blatant use of expletives, remove DC's post for blatant show of ignorance. cheers and apologies.

Why the hell argue with stupid and ignorant people?
You can't change their opinions no matter how hard you try!
Laugh at them instead and when you get bored ignore them.

The war against Saddam Hussein needed no argument to support it.
Neither did the war against Hitler.

Imagine some idiot in London in 1940 after a devastating biltz by the Nazi airforce screaming about nonviolence, love thy enemy and peace!
Funny isn't it!

Imagine 100,000 dyed in the wool Left winger and Communists declaring themselves "neutral" while siding against the United States against a right wing government while TOTALLY ignoring A FACSIST TYRANT in Iraq who needed overthrowing. Imagine extremist communists calling for extremist fascists to be spared!!!
That's funny!
I never thought pigs would fly but they did!

Bush never made the mistake of believing his arguments would persuade anyone on the hard Left. He knows they think any one who doesn't worship Lenin and Marx is a skinhead Nazi so why bother?
Bush can say " I was never THAT sure about weapons of mass destruction. I was just following the evidence available at the time."

Blair however had to convince his followers like Galileo tried to convince the Inquisition that the earth was not the centre of the universe.
The Inquisition had the Bible given them by God so they didn't believe Galileo.
The Left have Marx and Lenin who KNEW EVERYTHING!

Blair said "let's draw a line and move on."

I'll run that through the translation machine

What Blair really said was ---------------------------- I WON AND YOU LOST!
MUHUHUHUHAHAHHHAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Better luck next time!

The Left made complete fools of themselves fawning over Saddam and then getting involved with Islamic extremists in a Muslim protest over headscarves. They have zero credibility with the public now.

Pinochet (whose son is serving time now for selling second hand cars illegaly) has been declared fit yet again for trial, and though his daughter Lucia has protested, it just goes on and on.
The ex-General just doesn't seem to be getting his trial, who would have thought the final TV drama would take such a nailbiting length of time?

Blair has returned from holidays in Egypt where he went within three hours of learning of the Tidal Wave and and less than one hour after reading the western alert that an earthquake type thingy was due in the region of the islands which boast port Blair where the first blair (not george orwell blair) built a prison for the east india company a long time ago.

Alex jones (not the welsh christmas singer) a parent of one of the now known to be 200 british victims of the natural disaster, has quite pithily said "the man has lost the plot".

Certainly Mr Kennedy of the Liberal Democrats and Mr Howard of the Conservatives seem to agree.

Mr Blair has now appointed a new intelligence supremo, the ex immigrant affair dude Bill Jeffries, lovely lad, who will replace will replace Sir David Omand, who retires at Easter. the time we wonder which came first the little chicken, the crucifixion or the nestlé egg.

here you can read the CV of the current PM of the collection of statelets with global responsibility and ties which border the sceptred isle of Erron which is quaintly called the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
