The sweeping House of Commons reforms proposed by Green MP Ellie Chowns are evidence that the Mrs Dutt-Pauker types have moved from Peter Simple's columns into public life. We're in for a bumpy ride, says Sean Walsh.

Travel to london to Resist Bush

category international | anti-war / imperialism | press release author Friday November 14, 2003 17:58author by Adam - Gluaiseachtauthor email peace at gluaiseacht dot netauthor phone 056 775 6796 Report this post to the editors

Details of travel from Ireland to London next week

George Bush will be in London from 19-21 November.

On the 19th of november there will be a mass non-violent civil disobedience at buckingham palace.a group called resist bush, made up mostly of london grassroots opposition to the war, have recently called for....open, mass action with announced gathering points and in parallel with a call for autonmous affinity groups to carry out non-violent actions around and maybe inside buckingham palace.

Gluaiseacht will be co-ordinating a group from Ireland to the protests. If we do enough fundraising and sponsorship we should be able to make this affordable for everyone. In order to get on with the organising we need to know quite soon who can come and also who would like to get involved with the organising. so email us at peace@gluaiseacht.net or call the office on 056 7756796

This is going to be an amazing oppurtunity to show bush how much opposition there is not just to the war but to all his other crazy policies. The US media will have no choice but to report it

We have decided not to run a coach as, since we won't need it while we're there, it's actually cheaper to go by scheduled transport. However, we are doing some fundraising and in discussions with the organisers in London about accomodation. We are co-ordinating people to get the 9pm ferry from Dublin on Monday 17th and returning on the night ferry on Friday 21st. We are planning to organise some preparatory events/workshops - watch this space for more details. The cost of the ferry would be E77 unsubsidised. Tickets for two people are available for E125 between them and can be booked in advance at any railway station in Ireland. Meet at 1930 at Dublin Ferry Port. We may run some preparatory workshops (in Dublin or elsewhere) in advance - it depends on interest so please get in touch.

We also have a draft Police/Legal Briefing for people travelling from Ireland to this event.

More information is also available on the Resist Bush website: http://www.resistbush.org

Last night I got a return ticket (leaving Derry morning, return evening) for 26 pounds with Ryanair. Might be a few tickets still going. Easyjet had tickets from Belfast to Gatwick for about 70 pounds.

I demand that protestors do not use Ryanair and Easyjet to go to London. These are capitalist enterprise companies which are part of the world wide Right wing conspiracy against the workers paradise.
Please use Aer Lingus instead and help out SIPTU brothers in arms!
