US Federal Judge Reports on Iraq

category international | arts and media | opinion/analysis author Monday September 29, 2003 04:26author by D11 Runner Report this post to the editors

.

Us Federal Judge Don Walters recently gave this speech describing his recent experiences in Iraq. It's not a very long speech and it really is worth reading. The judge goes to some trouble to point out that certain aspects of the rebuilding of Iraq are not being reported in the western media.

Or their judges are even dumber then ours are.

We are supposed to beleive that he only discovered that Saddam was torturing people AFTER he arrived in post-war Iraq?!? And this caused his 'conversion' to the 'pro- war' cause. Pull the other one. This story is only going to fool other rather dim witted pro-war idiots looking for a blanket after the offical reasons for war have been revealed to be lies.

Saddam might have been a nasty man who would have carried out gencocide given the opportunity, but America/UK did have the opportunity and they did everything in their power not to waste it.

The only Weapons of Mass destruction in Iraq were left behind after the first gulf war and they were having horrific consequences against the children of iraq every day. Depleted uranium caused cancer in over 50% of the population of Basra and southern Iraq, it also caused huge increases in mutations in plant, animal and Human reproduction. The Americans not only caused the cancer (and continue to deny these undeniable facts) but they refused Iraq the necessary medications that would turn these illnesses from merely horrific, to fatal, and even pain killers were refused so the innocent dying children had to suffer in pain.
AMERICA/UK HAVE NO MORAL HIGH GROUND. they waged a war targetting civillians for 12 years and they have the arrogance to claim the side of right in a "war on terrorism"
5 thousand children died each month. that's almost 2 september 11 for each month of the year only including children. America HAD NO RIGHT TO USE OUTRAGE OR DEFENSE TO JUSTIFY AN ATTACK ON IRAQ.
That judge claimed to have found 57 mass graes. I wonder how many mass graves the American sanctions would have filled?
The judge claimed he saw poverty. Of course he did. America had been militarily bombing Iraq daily for 12 years and utterly strangling the population with economic sanctions that benefitted only Saddam and the Oil companies making massive profits from the "Oil for food program."

I'm not dismissing it as 'pro-US propaganda'. I'm suggesting that it is a spoof. A spoof not on the 'anti-war' crowd but on the pro-war crowd.

Did a bit of googling since my first post on this. Put in the judges name and you will find 40 to 50 pro-war sites crowing over this very report. BUT you won't find any other reference to this judge which seems a little odd. Almost if he only came into 'existence' for this report.

Perhaps I'm wrong but I'd not be surprized if a 'fooled you' statement gets circulated some time in the next week.

Well, he is a retired judge so that might explain his lack of internet presence. If he retired in 1994/5 he would have had no internet coverage of his decisions.

If he existed his work in Bosnia, jakarta, Indonesia, and Morocco over the past 5 to 6 years would have to have some mention on the internet.

Such an admission would never be published on any pro war sites, in fact a proven spoof would still be used as evidence to support their "cause", as was before and ever shall be

Check out the federal dept of Justice, Washington DC. its online and has all the listings of judges in the US.One thing that the evil US has is a easy access to public information.Much better than this place.

author by Gaillimhedpublication date Tue Sep 30, 2003 17:50author address author phone Report this post to the editors

Oh this is really getting away from the point, BUT:
The judge in question is supposed to be from Shreveport Louisiana, but a search of the Louisianna department of justice website produced no matches, and a thorough search of Washington Justce department produced no record of a 'Judge' Don Walters, and apart from a judge Ross A. Walters this was the only other lead:
- Army Sgt. *Donald R. Walters*,Fort leavenworth, kansas who was killed when his 507th Maintenance Company was ambushed last month in Iraq, http://www.katu.com/news/war_story.asp?ID=56462

I also cannot find any trace of the original transcript of walters lecture, all references are to an abridged transcript. I also cannot find out WHERE his lecture was delivered.

Don Waltersw does in fact turn up as a witness on a senat sub-commitee in 1993, But as a private citizen, Not a federal judge as he was supposed to be at that time
http://arcweb.sos.state.or.us/legislative/legislativeminutes/1993%20Senate%20Judiciary.txt/sJUD042193pm1.txt

The long and short of it
US Federal Judge Don Walters Does not exist.

author by Gaillimhedpublication date Tue Sep 30, 2003 18:20author address author phone Report this post to the editors

The alleged transcript was submitted to the 'Global special operations' site by a Barbara Bessant, check out her other submitted articles, eg: http://members.tripod.com/~geckce/dearamerica.html
-an obvious spoof with a right-wing spin.
Not even spoof, just fabrication in place of reality to get across a point.
I would suggest that this article is of the same Calibre.
Lone Gunman, as you are the one who objects to anyone having doubts about this article, why dont you provide some evidence as to its being genuine, i cant find any, but that may just be due to rabid anti-americanism blurring my sight.
Every day another Liar steps up to add more to the stinking pile of filth that has been used to justify this War and americas treachery (*small 'a' from now on, once a great nation- but alas no more) and youre still swallowing it.

To you or everyone having doubts about the article. At least fair fucks to you .You went away and researched as to wether the article or author is true,or exists. My point being that is not wether this judge exists or not you have got to verify and check every story from both the pro and anti sides.most people would dismiss it as anti american propaganda without checking wether it is genuine or not.
Tip ;check the federal register of DOJ or it is possible that he is a judge in the US military.Yes they have them too.

author by Gaillimhedpublication date Wed Oct 01, 2003 11:26author address author phone Report this post to the editors

I totally agree with you on that, the amount of propaganda, counter propaganda, spin, and downright lies, is astronomical. I am no longer shocked to find out how little value is placed on the truth.
You cannot trust any source without detailed verification, alot of the articles on this site carry mistruths ranging from the slightly miscorrect to the extravagant lie.
And friends, it is not just the pro-war, pro-business, anti social-justice crowd that issue propaganda. Beware, passions are filling the air.
As to this article, i have spent too much time already, i hadnt intended to dedicate much time to it and whether Don Walters exists or not does not change my opinion of it, even if he was real and everything in that article came from him, so what ?, that still would not make it indisputable. Its just more distraction, its propaganda, read the article again, it is not written to inform, its written in the manner of a counter propaganda pamphlet, it contains all the refutations and impassioned pleas to common sense characteristic of right-wing stooge nonsense.
It is a lie whether US Federal Judge Don Walters exists or not.

Believe that if it makes you feel better.

You're right however, to point out the shocking amount of lies being posted on this site. Just the other day I saw an article claiming that the recent Iraq invasion had killed "millions of civilians".

Not one person has queried this.

author by Yossarianpublication date Thu Oct 02, 2003 12:31author address author phone Report this post to the editors

The reference was probably to over a million, that is including those who died from sanctions since 1991 and probably including those who died in Gulf War I. The figure for 1 million deaths from sanctions was a figure from a UN agency.

author by Bigfootpublication date Fri Oct 03, 2003 03:05author address author phone Report this post to the editors

It was definitely "millions".

author by Yossarianpublication date Fri Oct 03, 2003 11:26author address author phone Report this post to the editors

I agree where people are going to quote numbers they should try to make them as accurate as possible although that is extremely difficult where these are kept under wraps.
However the thrust that many, many people have died as a result of sanctions and war is valid. Is a million dead people ok? Or does it only get truly horrific when it reaches 2 million? What about 500,000 ... peanuts!
