Call on Tramore Town Council to protect human and animal life

Call on Tramore Town Council to pass a by-law preventing the gathering of horses in Tramore town centre Waterford following views expressed by the Gardai that the annual St.Stephen's Day meet of the Waterford Foxhounds is a danger to human and animal life.

The Association of Hunt Saboteurs is calling upon Tramore Town Council to pass a byelaw preventing the gathering of horses in Tramore town centre.

Following recent comments by the Gardai in Waterford District Court that there is a danger of horses bolting at the annual St.Stephen’s Day meet of the Waterford Foxhounds the AOHS is calling on Tramore Town Council to act on the concerns of the Gardai and to pass a byelaw preventing horses gathering in Tramore town centre.

The AOHS believe that it is bad enough that the people of Tramore are forced to endure animal abusers descending on Tramore on St.Stephen’s Day but to put the lives of humans and animals at risk by the actions of the Waterford Foxhounds in bringing a large gathering of horses into a confined area with all the inherent dangers involved is a serious human and animal safety issue.

John Tierney, Campaigns Director of the Association of Hunt Saboteurs, says:

“ If the Gardai believe that the St.Stephen’s Day of the Waterford Foxhounds in Tramore Town Centre is a potential life threatening situation the onus is on Tramore Town Council to take on board these concerns.”

“Will it take a serious accident involving horses and people to force Tramore Town Council to act? A byelaw should be put in place preventing people gathering with horses in Tramore thus removing this threat to human and animal life.”

So that means you want to ban the Tramore races as well?[public places and horses].
Maybe if John didnt blow his air horn[dont know why he needs one.]the horses wouldnt be so jumpy.
Hmmmmmmm.....wasnt it one of the proclamations of AHS,That their actions would be direct non violent and not to be undertaken if there was a direct threat to animal or human life????
Hmmmm...Must suggest that Tramore becomes around Christmas the annual meeting place for sulky racers, and we move the annual Dublin horse street market to Waterford
