Lockdown Effects May be Killing More People Than the Virus Fri Aug 19, 2022 09:21 | Toby Young ONS data suggest that 1,000 more people than usual are dying each week ? and not from Covid. Is this due to delayed treatment for conditions such as cancer as a result of the lockdown? Or is it... something else?

The West on Russia vs the West on Saudi Arabia Fri Aug 19, 2022 07:22 | Noah Carl Western foreign policy makes absolutely no sense ? whether from a moral or strategic perspective. This is illustrated by a recent video of Liz Truss, who refuses to criticise our "important partner" Saudi Arabia.

Tuesday October 30, 2018 12:01 by Roger Yates - Vegan Information Project

Three voluntary groups combine to celebrate World Vegan Day
The Vegan Information Project, Food Not Bombs, Dublin County, and Vegan Education on the Go (VEGO) will hold an information and homeless assistance event on Westmoreland Street, Dublin, November 1st. The Vegan Information Project (VIP) and Food Not Bombs, Dublin County, and VEGO (Vegan Education on the Go), are teaming up on Thursday November 1st (World Vegan Day) for an event in Westmoreland Street, Dublin (4-7pm).
VIP’s focus will be on vegan education, with leaflets, posters, banners, virtual reality goggles, videos, displays, and plant-based cheese sampling. In addition, full packs of Violife cheese (coconut oil based) will be handed out to members of the public.
Food Not Bombs, Dublin County will be supplying the homeless with dry clothes, sleeping bags, vegan food, and hot drinks.
VEGO will feature their large video screen and the 40 minute film, "Animal Exploitation in Ireland," which shows routine scenes of animal use in Ireland.
“World Vegan Day marks and celebrates the beginning of the European vegan social movement, which began in November 1944. At a time of war, vegans stood for peace, justice, and non-violence. The last half decade has seen a huge rise in the interest in veganism. In Dublin, for example, our vegan and vegan-friendly restaurant guide extends to three pages: 3-4 years ago, it would have had only 3 or4 entries,” said VIP organizing volunteer, Dr. Roger Yates.
“Food Not Bombs, as an international network of chapters, has existed for almost 40 years and we are proud to have started a group in Dublin County. This will be our fifth Food Not Bombs event in Dublin. People often forget that homeless folk have strong ethical principles and we find that many are grateful to receive goods that do not contain animal products,” said Ms. Bernie Wright, organizer for Food Not Bombs, Dublin County.
Thanks to Art of Zen Foods Ltd for providing the plant-based cheese samples.
