Israel’s day of reckoning.

category international | miscellaneous | opinion/analysis author Thursday May 07, 2015 12:53author by Robert Long Report this post to the editors

How the last days of Israel may play out.

The tiny state of Israel lay in ruins. Hubris was its downfall, its meddling the affairs of its neighbours had backfired, drastically. Its own disaffected Arab minority rallied and rioted ceaselessly straining the already thinly spread IDF, until in desperation, it resorted to massacres and ethnic cleansing reminiscent of the Nakba days.

The zealot settlers of the West Bank, unleashed their blood lust with such ferocity the U.N itself announced genocide on the scale of Rwanda was taking place. Little was done to mitigate this slaughter as the IDF was already at breaking point confront external threats. This coupled with the fact that the ruling coalition depended on extremist parties, whose power base lay with the fanatical settlers.

It is in the midst of this chaos that Israel unleashed its secret, illegal nuclear weapons programme against targets in Iran, Syria and Lebanon.
Gaza was all but raised to ground by incessant carpet bombing and artillery. Tens of thousands of Gazans were killed and many more would later die from injuries. The tiny enclave was plunged into the Stone Age with a total lack of power and nothing allowed in or out.

Missiles from Iran, Syria, Lebanon and Gaza poured into Israel, along with smaller barrages from the Sinai and even Jordan. This overwhelmed the Iron Dome defences and allowed massive damage to be done to Israel’s limited number of viable airports and runways thus stifling the ability of the IAF to strike back at launch sites.

After Israel resorted to the use of WMD’s, the great powers finally wade in. The U.S feeling betrayed, had failed to do little more but provide logistical support for Israel. Aside from sinking some Iranian naval vessels attempting to close of the Strait of Hormuz, there was little other action the U.S took on Israel’s part.
Russia and China outright condemned the Israeli aggression and called for Israel’s leaders to arrested and tried in the Hague, while the ardent Zionists in the US congress foamed at the mouth demanding the U.S through all its political and military might behind the Middle East’s “only democracy”.
However despite the money and influence of the Israel lobby the American people were far from willing sacrifice a possibly unfathomable amount of blood and treasure to defend what was now seen as the world’s most fanatical pariah state.

The world economy in ruins, millions dead, and an entire region plunged into chaos that would last decades and more than likely spread, the Jewish state was irrevocably changed. The true colours of Zionism were on show for all to see and the world would not forget.

a) Always plan based upon your enemy's capabilities, not your estimate of your enemy's intentions.
b) Do not make plans dependent upon your enemy behaving foolishly, stupidly, etc.

Now try again taking those into account. However evil some of us might think the Israelis to be, few of us imagine that they are stupid. Also take into account the known ability of the weapons you are discussing and not be blinded by wishful thinking. You might always want to consider.

c) If your scenario requires allies effectively coordinating their efforts, it is unwise to assume they will be able to do so without a proven track record. A body needs a head, could the allies agree on who would lead them?

The whole premis of these ramblings show no ne'er standing of the situation in the Middle East at present (and for a long time to come). Arab nations are falling apart, Syria, Iraq, Yemen they have enough or one with ISIS.

Suggest you read some more on the region.
