offsite link Why is the Right Promoting Idleness? Fri Dec 12, 2025 15:00 | Nick Rendell
Why has the Right joined the Left in promoting idleness? For the Left it's an obsession with UBI. But for the tech bros it's all about 'hyperabundance'. Either way, idleness is always soul-destroying, says Nick Rendell.

category national | gender and sexuality | event notice author Wednesday September 24, 2014 12:46author by Eilis - Abortion Rights Campaign Report this post to the editors

Join ARC and Re(al)Productive Health in FILMBASE after the march for a series of interactive events, music, food and fun

After-party for the 3rd March for Choice: come to Filmbase where there will be tea, coffee and cakes. You’ll be able to hang out with other amazing pro-choice people and activists, participate in our interactive workshop, speak or listen at the Speak Out and enjoy live music and DJs til late.

Programme of events

Packing up Stigma Workshop: Making a Case for Abortion Rights

From 16:30 – 19:00 the Filmbase foyer will be buzzing with a range of activities and materials for you to make your case for abortion rights. You will be assisted by Baggage-Handlers at our interactive workshop which includes a #NotaVessel photo booth, a Customs Declarations desk and a Baggage Drop provided for all who bring wheelie cases to the March for Choice.

Enjoy the lounge space, check out the exhibitions, have some nibbles and keep hanging out or head to this year’s Speak Out:

Speak for Choice: Abortion Speak Out

From 19:00 – 20:45 Speak for Choice will normalise the topic of abortion and celebrate its honest discussion, all within a safe environment that privileges sharing not debate. You can Speak Out here about personal experience of abortion, or of personal experiences in pro-choice activism. The event will provide a safe space to speak out and articulate your experiences and views as we celebrate how individuals have expressed their protest of the 8th Amendment and how networks of support and activism have formed. You are invited to share your personal anecdotes, essays, music, artwork and short films about your abortion and your pro-choice activism on the night. You can submit beforehand here.

Dance and Chat For Choice

From 21:00 on the night will finish with great musical acts, cans, dancing.

We’ll have a wine reception, spectacular nibbles, and cakes and for the rest of the night it will be BYOB, but the tea will be very plentiful (if that’s all the B you need)!

Venue: Filmbase, Curved Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2
