Syria: One "humanitarian" intervention too far

category international | anti-war / imperialism | opinion/analysis author Monday June 17, 2013 20:24author by Robert Long Report this post to the editors

“Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it”

Iraq had WMD’s, Gaddafi was killing his own people, Iran has been six months from having nuclear weapons since 2004 and now Syria has used chemical weapons in its civil war. These are lies purported as truth by the vast majority of the mainstream media. These are four examples from the last decade, but of course lies of this kind have been used throughout history to justify wars of aggression. All of these government sponsored fallacies are inextricably linked in an on-going geo-political chess game. This game is all too real for those living in the “theatres” of conflict, and it shall be so for us few, lucky enough to reside in the still relatively peaceful albeit now austere “western” world.

Now its Syria’s turn for bloody, western sponsored “liberation”. Recently former French Foreign minister Roland Dumas has gone on record as stating that he was told about this coming “revolution” in Syria by top British officials while in London, two years before the outbreak of violence. He is quoted as stating “Britain was organizing an invasion of rebels into Syria. They even asked me, although I was no longer minister for foreign affairs, if I would like to participate.” When asked why would the British want to over through Syria he answered quite candidly in saying because they are opposed to Israel. Perhaps you can see how asinine the debate on whether or not to arm the “Syrian” rebels is. It’s a foregone conclusion as was the Iraq war and the intervention in and merciless bombing of Libya was. The ultimate prize in this game is Syria’s closest ally, Iran. All these countries have one huge factor in common; Israel.

It was hoped that when Barack Obama replaced George W. Bush we would see a role back on his polices of foreign aggression, social injustice and the shocking Orwellian measures against the American people themselves. Instead what this used car sales man delivered was an expansion of these policies and more. I myself was condemned as a cynic for repeatedly stating, during that much vaunted rise of Obama in 2008, that he was a merely more likeable new puppet to replace the old disliked one. The faces change but the agenda remains – a mantra of mine whenever some slick new suit comes along peddling “change” or “hope” or other meaningless phrases, for masses to fawn over. This is given credence by the fact that before the Eton boy, Cameron came to power; the British were already preparing to unleash hell upon Syria for its anti-Zionist stance, as revealed by Dumas. With the new public face in May, 2010 the plan and planners just carried on regardless. The faces change but the agenda remains.

So now we are here with weapons now openly being supplied, by the west, to the Islamist extremists in Syria. I’m not denying there are genuine grievances among the Syria people against the regime. However these same terrorists linked to that ever elusive band of shadowy terrorists “Al-Qaeda”. There is no Al-Qaeda as Former UK FM Robin Cook told us shortly before his untimely death. There are those who agree with its stated aims and even those who call themselves by the same but this moniker is simply a propaganda term. How many useful idiots from not only Arab countries but many from Europe the UK, the US and even Ireland have gone to fight for Al-Qaeda, ignorant to the fact that they are pawns advancing a Zionist agenda. This agenda to remove and ultimately rule through puppet Wahhabi extremists, see Saudi Arabia, gulf emirates, the most resource rich part of the world and remove and opposition to their New World Order. This is attempted through the British perfected “Divide and Conquer” my own country, Ireland, being one of the most notable in the success of this strategy.

However in their mad drive to spread bloodshed they are now met with other powers in this ever more multi-polar world. Russia and China with their own agenda and vision for the world are making themselves clearer than ever in their opposition. Putin has made it clear that he will not allow the fall of Assad in Syria as with Gaddafi in Libya. With his support and that of Iran and the Hezbollah in Lebanon as of this summer victory of the foreign backed extremists in Syria seemed assured.

Desperation and panic growing, we now have Egypt’s President Mursi, of the Muslim brotherhood, original Al-Qaeda created by British Intelligence, cutting ties with Syria and calling for a no-fly zone. The puppet, monumental hypocrites of the Saudi and Gulf monarchies giving the most advanced weaponry available to the rebels and calls for intervention from Turkey’s Erdogan, despite massive domestic protests against his own authoritarianism as well as the same from western powers. Suddenly, Assad despite being in dire situations in the past and now on the cusp of victory suddenly decides to use chemical weapons killing 100 to 150 people according to western sources. Assad also did this despite being in full knowledge that it would be a casus belli for the neo-imperialist powers. They simply take us for idiots.

In all this Israel sits on the side-lines, occasionally attempting to provoke Syria by bombing it. Syria luckily has not taken the bait as of yet. With massive protests against Netanyahu’s extremist regime’s social policies, a war would be a nice distraction. The same can be said for Obama with his multiple scandals, not least the fact that every single American is now being treated as an enemy by the US’ largest and most powerful spy agency, the NSA.
Now because of very dubious and uncorroborated claims of chemical weapon use by the Assad forces, intervention in Syria looks inevitable. However with Russia and Iran showing no signs of backing down on the issue and the involvement of the Lebanese Hezbollah it looks as if a regional sectarian conflagration could be the best outcome of the possible terrible consequences of the actions of the psychopathic powers that be. The worst outcome possible is the destruction of human civilization or even humanity itself in a global conflict.

It is clear that the Islamic fundamentalists are involved in placing chemic material around the place.
