Cherry-picked temperature data taken from near exhaust-spewing runways does not a scientific study make, says Chris Morrison. The BBC's latest steaming pile of "extreme heat" alarmism is just more extreme nonsense.

On Apirl 28th we invite you to celebrate MAYDAY, the universal holiday of our desires. Over the past number of years, people across Dublin have been working to open up new spaces, create organisations of resistance and cultures of hope that enable us to survive this era of bust.

For one day we are calling on all of you to emerge onto the streets in a carnival of hope, resistance and creativity. Join us!

The location of the party will be disclosed on the day. Our meeting point is agt the Spire, O'Connell St at 2pm where cyclists and pedestrians will converge before heading to the party.

The party is open to all ages and will have;

- Djs, bands, buskers and drummers
- Free food
- Free face painting
- Live performance art

Bring your bike, bring your kids, bring your granny - For one day we are calling on all of you to emerge onto the streets in a carnival of hope, resistance and creativity. Join us!

We fully respect our city's streets and intend to leave them clean, tidy and free of litter. Please respect this and bin your empties.

This event is about bringing some fun and creativity to the city. It is open to everyone. In keeping with this we would ask you not to bring any party political banners, placards or flags.

It went really well. We met at the Spire at 2pm on Saturday. A group of about 300 pedestrians marched through the streets to the plaza outside Dublin Castle taking over Capel St, Grattan Bridge and Parliment St en route. Critical Mass took an alternative route across O'Connell Bridge and around Suffolk St and Dame St to arrive at the plaza around the same time.

At the plaza there was free food for all courtesy of Food not Bombs, acrobatic performances, live graffiti and painting, face painting, stompin tunes from a wide variety of Dublin's djs all played through a powerful sound system. When the generator packed it in the kind folks from an apartment near by stepped in and let us run an extension lead into their flat. Fairplay to them!

All in all around 500 people partied at RTS throughout the day. The party wound down around 6pm and there was a strong focus all day on cleaning up after ourselves and leaving the place litter free.

There was an after party with the likes of Captain Moonlight and drum & bass legend Ricky Force on the line up in The Dark Horse Inn from 7pm which was packed until closing time.

We hope that this will happen again in Dublin and other cities over the summer. All organising and planning was carried out by a loose collective of individuals. We hope that this will grow and that parties will start to pop up all over the place over the next few months.

Hope there are some pics and stuff of this. I had no idea it was happening at all - where does stuff like this get organised & arranged these days?

I do not partake in Twitter or Facebook so I feel like I am missing out on a lot of stuff these days but I do not want to use their tools.

Its a shame that people do not use indymedia.ie to post their reports and media from an event like this any more....
