I attended a meeting the other night on the Fiscal treaty and why we should vote No. I was going to vote No anyhow as I knew there was much in it that was bad for us, but what I learned about what has been added into this treaty and what Ireland would be signing up to, is truly fightening as it is far worse that I could even imagine.

I would therefore urge anyone and everyone to actually go and attend any meetings that are being held in your area.

The general Irish population cannot and should not be held nor made to feel responsible for the financial mess that their country is now in.
That is purely the result of the actions of corrupt financiers, corrupt politicians and corrupt property development processes.

To try and shift the blame onto the general population is like telling staff working in any business that they must compensate their employers out of their wages for any cash lost to robbery.

And yet it continues to be the general population that is being hammered into struggle and hardship by those whom they have entrusted into government whilst those who creamed off the fat of the land continue to escape scot-free and enjoy the ill-gotten gains of their corruption and greed.

And that hammer is being driven by EU leaders whose goal is the survival of a non-entity - the Euro, above and over the requirements, needs and rights of the people of Ireland and other EU states.

And while the hammer blows fall, those elected into government office in Ireland remain puppy dog quiescent to the demands of their European dictators, instead of fulfilling their mandate as the caretakers of their own people.

Such egocentric short sightedness can only bode ill for the real future of Irish society.
