Dublin City University Invites Aspiring Entrepreneurs to Free Start-Up Event

DCU Business School invites Irish entrepreneurs, SMEs and start-ups to the Helix, DCU for this year’s Get Started mini-conference. The event will take place on 20th March between 2pm and 6pm. Speakers will include Gavin Duffy, Dragons Den, Nicola Byrne, 11890 Directory Enquiries and Caroline Casey, award winning social entrepreneur, amongst others. The speakers will share their advice and knowledge based on their experiences as successful entrepreneurs.
A “Dotcom Survivors Panel” will feature Charlie Ardagh, CEO, Trackalyse, Antoin O’Lachtnain, Managing Director, Digital Messenger and John Dennehy, CEO, Zartis. Aiming to inspire and encourage attendees, the panellists will discuss the challenges of establishing and sustaining a business in the rapidly changing digital environment.
“Entrepreneurs and early stage businesses need inspiration but also practical advice,” says Dr. Theo Lynn, Director of Industry Engagement at DCU Business School. “Get Started is part of our on-going efforts to open up DCU Business School to the wider community and join with our students and staff to learn from experienced business leaders.”
Get Started is designed to introduce those considering starting their own business, as well as existing SMEs, to the supports and tools available to help them grow. Other speakers will include John McNamara, BCM Consulting and Andrew Jenkinson, vStream.
The event is organised by DCU Business School’s Leadership, Innovation and Knowledge Research Centre (LInK). LInK works closely with entrepreneurs, start-ups and established businesses. Individuals and businesses are supported and mentored to help develop their ideas into fully viable enterprises.
