Antti Rautiainen lived in Moscow for 13 years, participating in anarchist activities. His residence permit was revoked in March of this year, allegedly because he "called for a violent overthrow of constitutional order, or otherwise endangered the safety of Russian Federation or its citizens". There is a growing trend of cruelty to animals in Ireland. Irish legislation has failed and continues to fail animals in this country. On Sunday, August 26th 2012 at 1pm Sharp meeting at the Garden of Remembrance, hundreds of compassionate and caring people and other respected groups will join together to peacefully march through Dublin's City centre for a lively and upbeat protest calling for tougher laws to stamp out animal abuse and to recognise animals as sentient beings. Event Notice:
Following the coup in Paraguay on 23 June in which Fernando Lugo was ousted and replaced by Federico Franco, LASC will hold a Thursday Night Talk (TNT) on 5th July. There will be a brief overview of the build-up to the coup and an update on the current situation in Paraguay, however, the main purpose of the TNT is to facilitate discussion on these issues.

Contributors will include Pablo Rojas Coppari (Migrant Rights Centre Ireland and originally from Paraguay) and Jose Antonio Gutierrez (Research Officer, LASC). It will be facilitated by Sean Edwards (LASC Committee Member).

On Tuesday 26th June, from 5-6.30pm at Dublin’s Spire on O’Connell St, the IPSC will hold a solidarity vigil for three Palestinian political prisoners who are now on hunger strike. One of them is in “imminent danger of death” according to human rights organisations in Palestine and Israel.
