April 24th = Second Intellectual Property Enforcement.

category international | anti-capitalism | other press author Sunday April 22, 2007 14:24author by Chris Murray Report this post to the editors

IPRED2- A Reminder.

Tomorrow sees the IPRED2 vote on intellectual property rights in the
EU Parliament.

The blurb goes , its about 'commercial' and 'incitement', but EFF are saying that
the lines are fuzzy and it involves transnational co-operation on investigations
by the big US Conglomerates (Hollywood)

http://www.copycrime.eu

There is a protest letter and a petition on the site.
E.F.F Europe
E.F.F Europe

The Second Intellectual Property Enforcement dealie will have repurcussions in
open Source Coders, Youtube and ISPs who refuse to block P2P (s)

The refusal to define what is 'commercial' and 'incitement' in terms of
intellectual proerty rights laws in the EU is not getting much media coverage,
what with all the domestic news regarding the Red C Poll and the
Ahern Dynasty. sop take a look at the site and letters

http://www.copycrime.eu

Will add in the related links later.

but you can google EFF, Digital Rights Ireland, and other sites regarding the
Intelletual property Rights Issues.

There is 24 hours to the IPRED2 vote in the Eu Parliament.
The info is in the article above.

this link in English:- http://www.copycrime.eu/action
and in Espagnol:- http://www.copycrime.eu/es/action

contains the message from the Librarians, Consumers and innovators Coalition
which is seeking amendments on the second intellectual property right vote
tomorrow.

EFF and the coalition are asking voters to campaign and lobby MEPS to ensure that
they are as aware as the tech/opensource and media community are about the dangers of
legislating such a controversial piece of legislation.

[so do it today]
