Osirak
by McFlecknoe Vanunu
Osirak Osirak,
My beloved Osirak,
Your sons, daughters, elders, wives.
Never got to blow Israel off the map with an Atomic Bomb.
The Israelis destroyed my beloved Osirak first; although I protested against it's destruction.
I refer you back to a reply I gave you on October 9th last when you made similar sneering criticism about Vanunu's openly made objection to the Israeli bombing of Osirak.
"He protested against his country (Israel) bombing Iraq's unfinished nuclear plant in Osirak, as I would have done if my country bombed some other country's finished or unfinished nuclear plant - would such a protest take away my credibility as an opponent of all nuclear bombs and plants?"
I repeat the sentiment also expressed in that thread - when I encounter people like yourself, it is refreshing to reflect on all those great and good Israelis who acknowledge Israel's wrongdoing to the Palestinians.
This is a difficult and heroic stance: for people to acknowledge the wrongdoing of their own State takes courage beyond the ordinary.
