category national | miscellaneous | press release author Tuesday April 19, 2005 13:44author by tracey - bitchin kitchenauthor email bitchinkitchen at vegemail dot comauthor phone 087 6543425 Report this post to the editors

a new cooking collective called the bitchin kitchen has been set up

following the eyfa winter meeting in co. clare recently a new cooking collective called the bitchin kitchen has been set up. for the last few years a group of us have come together to cook for gatherings like ecotopia and the frog fair and for food not bombs. now we have decided to set up permenantly as a cooking collective.
this summer we will be cooking at ecotopia in moldova, at the g8 summit protests in scotland and the shell protest camp in mayo. in order to raise money for equipment and a form of transport we will cook at some music festivals too. if you can help us either as a volunteer or with fundraising let us know.
we are available to cook from now on for any gatherings, protests, meetings or festivals. we can cook amazing vegan and vegetarian food for anywhere between 20 and 1,000 people. we can cook food not bombs style for free or charge a cheap amount in order to help us get more equipment and cover costs. all the food we cook is organic where possible or has been rescued from being wasted. the bitchin kitchen are all volunteers.
our motivation comes from our belief that food is an extremely political thing. we believe that good food is a necessity and not a privelege.
to volunteer, to help with fundraising, to donate, to inform us about festivals, to invite us to cook somewhere contact us at bitchinkitchen@vegemail.com
