Jump To Comment: 1 2Barnardos Macedon care home workers Margaret Hewitt and George Anderson were convicted of 70 charges of molesting and assaulting children in their care at the Macedon children home in Newtonabbey between 1977 and 1981.
Hewitt is the former fiancee of Kincora Sex beast Joe Mains. Another third alleged abuser Colin McKeating is being hunted abroad, and international agencies are trying to trace his whereabouts.
Macedon victim Liz Johnston bravely waived her right to anonymity to speak out about the abuse.
Seven former residents and the daughter of a Macedon staff member were abused by Hewitt when her mother worked nights said they hoped the verdict would encourage other victims to come forward.
George Anderson and Margaret Hewitt were both cleared after serving a year of horror in prison, thankfully one of the accusers found the courage to spill the beans and admit it was all a lie concoxted to earn compensation....sickening
