Crime in Ireland

Violent Crime

Government failure to deal with rising crime.

Ireland is no longer a safe place to visit or to live in because of the huge increase in street and other types of violence. Law and order seems to be breaking down due to the authorities being preoccupied sorting out their own corruption and greed. While the main government parties are supposedly investigating their own corrupt members, the police force are demoralised and any efforts on their part to implement the law are cancelled by a small number of vociforous do-gooders. Consequently, the criminals who are caught, generaly get off or get what amounts to a slap on the wrist and are immediately let out to carry on their criminal activities virtually unhindered. Many people are afraid to walk the streets at night because of the increase in unprovoked random violence. There seems to be a big increase in the number of people using weapons to settle their pathetic little differences. Every other day there are reports of shootings, stabbings, muggings, rapes (Some on tourists), fights after discos, teenagers joyriding in stolen cars and all other types of social terrorism. This virtual anarchy is having a detrimental effect on our social fabric.
And tragicly the majority of people seem to accept all this as an inevitability.

If I were you, I wouldn't be pulling anyone up on spelling. "i" before "e" except after "c" ring a bell?

Maybe Paddy Shamrock should be more voiciferous about the problems in the Irish education system. With spelling that bad, I don't blame people for turning to crime, they couldn't get a job anywhere!
