A month after the arrival of Scotland's Hate Crime Act and it appears reports of the demise of the Scottish Enlightenment may have been premature, no thanks to the SNP but due to the doughty spirit of the Scots.

Should governments be able to censor online content for the entire world? That's what Australia is claiming the right to do. But do they really think China and Russia should be able to choose what the world sees?

Road carnage and arts activism

Call out for Life Light

Thank you for visiting the online focal point for ‘Life Light’. This is an open art project that welcomes participation from anyone affected by a fatality (or injury) on Irish roads. No art skills are required.
My intention is to develop an installation to give a voice to a group of us, living all over Ireland, who have something very sad in common. Life Light will resonate with everyone who views it, because every single person experiences loss at some stage.
For anyone who is unfamiliar with the language of creativity, an ‘art installation’ is a term that refers work displayed for public viewing, comprised of writing, drawing, photography, painting, video and sculpture. Installation work can be used to explore a theme or comment on an issue.
I really hope some of you reading this will get involved. I don’t imagine that grief will disappear or heal overnight during the process, but at least through creativity we can express some of our emotion. And the results may even help and inspire others.
Because of the sensitive nature of the project, I won’t post full details here. To take part, send me a private message or E-mail anoisart@gmail.com. If you’ve questions after you get my E-mail, send me your phone number and we’ll arrange a time to talk.
