A recent Channel 4 documentary showed that a drone shot down in Sudan after taking part in several government operations against civilians and rebels contained a carburettor apparently made in Tillotson's Tralee plant. The EU exports billions of euros' worth of weaponry and other military hardware every year. Below are details of these exports broken down by source and destination country, year, and type of goods. Click on individual values to filter results. Link : http://www.caat.org.uk/resources/export-licences-eu/lic....html Licensed goods: Arms export licence figures are provided for all EU countries. These cover items on the Military List (equipment that is definitely for military use) but do not include Dual-Use items (equipment that could be for military or civil use). Exported goods: Most countries have also provided figures for the value of exported goods. Germany and the UK are notable exceptions. Figures indicate known values and are inevitably incomplete due to the differences in reporting between countries. read full story / add a comment

This Saturday at 9.00am sharp outside EU House on Molesworth street I will be protesting against the EU / Governments Blue Star Programme in Primary Schools , the training day for teachers who are taking part in the programme takes place there from 9am-3pm and I want to show my opposition to what they are doing. read full story / add a comment

The competitiveness dogma will not solve the present euro-zone crisis, as it is downward pressure on wages (and therefore consumer demand) and on government spending that has locked European economies into spirals of decline. read full story / add a comment

• Number of people employed: Down by 13 per cent since January 2008. • Number of people unemployed: Up from 107,000 in January 2008 to 296,300 today. • Annualised domestic growth rate: –1.2 per cent. • Net emigration: The number of people leaving the country is higher than the number coming in by 35,000. Gross emigration was more than 80,000 last year alone. In six years it went from the highest net immigration level in Europe to the highest emigration, overtaking the Baltic states and Kosovo. Meanwhile a group of students and other young people in Dublin has launched a campaign called “We’re not leaving” after the Government sent out letters encouraging young people to seek jobs abroad. • Government deficit as a proportion of GDP: 7.3 per cent. • Public debt: 121 per cent of GDP in 2013, up from 91 per cent in 2010 and 105 per cent in 2011. • Household debt: 200 per cent of GDP. There are people living on €50 per week or less after paying their bills. We have had eight austerity budgets since 2008; in the community sector there have been cuts of 35 to 40 per cent. • Value of assets underpinning household debt: –56 per cent since the crisis began. •Mortgages in arrears for more than six months: 17 per cent of all mortgages. read full story / add a comment

Interesting story in the independent regarding the promissory notes. The government is so worried that they have assembled a crack team of expensive lawyers (paid for by the people) to act against the interests of the people. Noonan, attendee of the last bilderberg meeting is apparently hopping mad that his new banking friends in Europe may have a problem getting all the billions of our money on time, which might require emergency legislation. read full story / add a comment

As reported by the financial blog The Automatic Earth written by Nicole Foss, she has reported that the German magazine Der Spiegel dropped a bombshell this morning in an article that the IMF plans to dump Greece in September. So far the Der Spiegel article is in German. Normally they will eventually publish articles in English. "Griechenland könnte schon im September pleitegehen. Der Internationale Währungsfonds hat nach Informationen des SPIEGEL der Brüsseler EU-Spitze signalisiert, dass er sich nicht an weiteren Hilfen für das Land beteiligen werde." Greece could go bankrupt as early as September. Spiegel has obtained information that the IMF told the Brussels leadership it would not make more money available for help to Greece. read full story / add a comment

The Government will seek Dail approval of: The Article 136 TFEU amendment to the EU Treaties which authorises the setting up of the permanent Eurozone loan fund, the European Stability Mechanism + A motion to approve the ESM Treaty which is authorized by this amendment + A motion to approve future Government spending on the ESM, TODAY - WEDNESDAY, AND TOMORROW - THURSDAY. The proposal to ratify the European Stability Mechanism Treaty as it stands and to approve the Article 136 TFEU amendment to the EU Treaties as authorizing the Stability Mechanism envisaged in the ESM Treaty, are unlawful under the EU Treaties and are therefore unconstitutional in Ireland and the other EU Member States. read full story / add a comment

Like lambs to the slaughter the Irish people ratified the Fiscal Stability treaty by a yes vote of 60.3%. Even members of the parties advocating the yes vote admitted fear and confusion were among the reasons why Irish people gave into the demands of the government. As they threw around buzz words such as stability, growth, investment and threatened a harsher budget if the treaty wasn’t ratified, it’s no surprise their school yard bully tactics won out. read full story / add a comment
