Images of Gary Redmond at FEE protest emerge

USI President, Gary Redmond, said:

“USI is disappointed by the behaviour of a small number of people, which occurred during an incident at the Department of Finance. This incident was completely separate from USI’s demonstration yesterday.

In the Irish Times, USI President Gary Redmond stated that ‎”USI is saddened by the actions of a small minority of people who staged a sit-in protest at the Dept of Finance, shortly after the USI protest march today”. He also labeled the protest as “anti-social behaviour” .

Gary Redmond himself has taken part in sit-down protests, including the one shown here, called by, and organised by Free Education for Everyone. The images in this post are from a FEE blockade in UCD (supported by UCDSU) at the arrival of Brian Lenihan in 2008.

Gardaí remove him from the roadway in several images. Now, he condemns his own members for doing the same!

Gary has been invited to attend the demonstration on Wednesday evening against police brutality. Organisers invite all those from across the left who have suffered at the hands of police brutality to join us in sending a clear mesage. The Irish people will not be beaten off their own streets.
