Join Hands Across the Sand-Ireland in Bray, Co Wicklow to Stand United
On Saturday, 26th of June, people all over the world will unite together on beaches to oppose near and off-shore drilling. It is an urgent statement to 'big oil' that people want change, clean energy and the oil companies must be held accountable.
Oil spills occur daily all over the planet. Some make the headlines like the BP disaster in the Gulf of Mexico and some do not. Ireland has been fighting big oil for over a decade in County Mayo. Now the Irish Government is seeking licenses to explore off the coast of the Atlantic. We must take a stand and say "NO!"
This proactive movement began in Florida, November 2009 - before the BP explosion. People have been gathering on beaches and holding hands to create a wall of unity to protect the precious shores. Now the movement has gone global, reaching people from all regions with the same concerns.
Ireland's shores are vulnerable and home to thousands of species. Please make your voice and heart heard with this international day of action and join us for this historic event!
