The Law School of Trinity College Dublin is proud to host the second annual Law Student Colloquium. Colloquium 2010, entitled “Rethinking Law”, takes place in TCD on Saturday 20th February 2010 . The colloquium gives law students the opportunity to present papers and engage in peer review of current legal research. It is unique in featuring original research presentations from both undergraduate and postgraduate students from Irish and other European universities. This event will be chaired by Mrs Justice Catherine McGuinness, former Supreme Court Judge and President of the Law Reform Commission.

Building on last year’s success, the 2010 Colloquium has attracted many exciting papers on topical issues including constitutional law, corporate governance, international law in post-conflict situations, new media, freedom of expression, medical ethics, children’s rights and more.

The colloquium encourages independent research among law students of all levels, facilitating their desire to explore challenging legal issues beyond the confines of their college courses. It not only provides students with an opportunity to present and discuss their own material, but also enables those who attend to discover and engage with new, original research. It will also allow students to discuss research opportunities with those already pursuing postgraduate research programmes, and to seek advice for their future studies

Attendance at the Colloquium is free of charge. Registration is not necessary, but those interested in attending can guarantee a place by emailing law.student.colloquium@gmail.com
