Free Colin Duffy and all those interned on remand!

On Saturday the 24th at 1pm, republicans will be holding a FREE COLIN DUFFY PROTEST at the Town Centre on West Street, Drogheda, County Louth, again we call on all who can make it to please attend.

A chairde,

Republican Network For Unity in the 26 counties encourage all shades of republicans and those interested in justice and maintaining basic human rights to rally behind the cause of Colin Duffy.

Colin, a republican from Lurgan in Armagh, is currently being unjustly interned by the British Government in the occupied six counties of the North of Ireland, a victim of state persecution.

In the aftermath of the shooting at the Massereene British army barracks in Antrim which resulted in the death of two active British army soldiers, and the fatal shooting of an RUC/PSNI officer in Craigavon, County Armagh, Colin was the perfect scapegoat to pin the blame on for these attacks, which was no surprise to Colins family or republicans in the six counties, as for the past two decades Colin has been the victim of a vicious campaign of intimidation, persecution and victimisation from the RUC/PSNI, unionists and pro-British media.

In 1990 Colin was the victim of a state-sponsored gun attack, when two masked gunmen opened fire on him and two other men, tragically one of those men republican Sam Marshall was killed when a rifle was put to his head and fired twice.
In 1994 during an extradition hearing in America, RUC inspector Alan Cregg admitted that the red Maestro car used in the killing of Sam Marshall, belonged to British 'intelligence services', used in undercover operations against republicans.

In 1993 Colin was the victim of a frame attempt when the RUC paid convicted Loyalist gunrunner Lindsay Robb to testify against Colin for the shooting of former UDR soldier John Lyness earlier in 1993,
As a result of Robbs evidence, Colin spent three years unjustly imprisoned until Lindsay Robb was discovered and convicted of gunrunning in Scotland on behalf of the UVF, who at the time were engaged in a campaign of murdering innocent Catholics across Ulster,
Due to Robbs conviction and the discovery that he was not a 'clean' witness, Colin was released, these events proved a link between the RUC and loyalist death squads.

In 1997 Colin was arrested and charged for the murder of two RUC officers, despite evidence that proved his innocence and a number of witnesses who could verify Colins whereabouts on the day if the killings, Colin was imprisoned for several months until all charges were dropped when the British courts conceded that the testimony of a mentally unstable women pressurised into testifying by the RUC,was not enough to convict Colin of these charges,
Colins lawyer at the time Rosemary Nelson was later murdered by a loyalist/RUC death squad, another victim of state collusion.

Now in 2009, Colin is again the victim of state persecution, interned by the British security services despite complete lack of evidence to connect him to any alleged crime,
Colins case is not unique, other innocent republicans and nationalists also languish in British prisons, interned on trumped up charges.

Colin Duffy and the others interned without charge are victims of the 'normalisation' process that is being forced upon people of Ireland by the British government, 26 county establishment, Sinn Fein and pro-occupation media, anybody that doesn't agree with 'normalisation' is fair game to be harassed, intimidated or imprisoned for their stance,
Those who oppose British rule in Ireland will continue to be persecuted by the state authorities(it is to be noted that this type on victimisation also takes place in the 26 counties), Colin Duffy will not be the last person to be subjected to this injustice.

Republican Network For Unity in the 26 counties are currently formulating plans to highlight Colins case and all those who are currently interned without trial.
The 26 county establishment and all its mainstream parties are choosing to ignore the plight of Irishmen in the North of Ireland who are been imprisoned unjustly by the British government,
Republicans need to publicise and spread the word about Colin Duffy to the public in the South, most of whom are unaware of the situation due to silence of the mainstream political parties and media,

RNU Belfast representative and prominent community activist Martin Og Meehan, as well as a member of Colin Duffy's family will be present to discuss Colins case at 6pm,Thursday, 22th, October in D105 in the Narts building of University College Dublin, this talk is organised by the Frank Ryan society who we would like to thank for hosing this event, we implore all those who can make it to attend.

Also on Saturday the 24th at 1pm, republicans will be holding a FREE COLIN DUFFY PROTEST at the Town Centre on West Street, Drogheda, County Louth, again we call on all who can make it to please attend.

RNU Atha Cliath and Cill Dara call for the immediate release of Colin Duffy and all those interned on remand.
END INTERMENT NOW!
