Republicans picket HMS Mersey in Dublin , Wed 19-08-09.
Sharon- When I first looked at this I thought it was Belfast, the Tall Ships thing. This is outrageous that its in Dublin??? How can a British Warship sail into Dublin?
Hi Damien !
It's all part and parcel of the on-going attempted 'Normalisation' policy - but the 'fly-in-the-ointment/just-not-cricket' aspect is that Irish Republicans don't see anything 'normal' in giving shelter to a section of the military presence which is in occupation of six Irish counties.
Thanks!
Sharon.
This lady was seen cruising John Rogerson's Quay today....
Well done on your protest. The numbers present are not relevant. The important issue is the message- the British are not welcome in Ireland, they never were welcome and they never will be welcome. The simple message is- Brits out.
Hi Redundant Republican !

Well said!
That is the one , direct message that should be to the fore whenever republicans take to the street .
Thanks!

RSF and 32csm picket on HMS Mersey , Wed 19 August '09 , Dublin.
What a waste of time! It was not a "protest" it was just attention seeking?
Your lie about the Mersey, which is a fisheries protection vessel and l not a warship didn't go unnoticed.
Still not like Republican Sinn Féin/Diet Sinn Fein/Low Fat Sinn Fein/"I can't believe it's not Sinn Feinn" or what ever it is you are calling yourselves today, to let the facts get in the way of "protest"
As one of our biggest trading partners and our nearest European neighbor the British Royal Navy has as much right to dock in Dublin as any other navy.
Still, nice of them and an Garda Siochana to allow you to have your little "look at me!" session.
Why would anyone want to go protest about some foreign fishery protection ship showing up in dublin.
Typical shinners, irish navy ships go to belfast and the loyalists dont protest at their presence FACT!
Sean, the longest journey begins with one footstep. Highlighting the continued presence of British armed forces in our country is time well spent. If I may say Wiseman, Irish navy ships are entitled to be in Belfast, it is a port in our country. As for loyalists protests, if they knew a few catholics were aboard the Irish vessel, they would protest in their thousands!
Hi Redundant Republican !
"Getting publicity- never a waste of time.

Well said - saved me the bother!
Incidentally , there is an interesting history attached to this non-warship :
