....but we'll carry-on as best we can !

Hi !

The organisers have six items which they will be offering as prizes in the raffle to be held on the night : two Republican T-Shirts and one framed 1916 Proclamation (pictured) and two bodhrons and one bottle of vodka , none of which , it seems , will be won by a Fine Gael member ---

Hi !

The ballad session went ahead as advertised , despite the efforts of the political police and their uniformed colleagues to Interfere with proceedings.

Report on the happenings and a few pics can be seen here -

Sinn Féin Poblachtach events are always well attended by 'independent observers' in the form of the SDU. I have yet to witness an event that does not involve an episode of harassment and bullying of members of the public by the SDU, and I have to admire the public's resilience for continously putting up with this shit that passes for 'policing'. It seems to me that if you are a nasty fucker with a perverted twisted mind, with an unceasing, enthusiastic, obsessive hatred for anything with the word Republican in it, then the SDU is the job for you.

It's incredible really, with all the great talk of Garda cutbacks and their incessant whingeing ad nauseum about their wages (the lowest Garda wage is 2.5 times my salary and I have no pension), that they can afford to spend their precious time on the 'job' harassing and bullying ordinary customers attending a political fundraiser in a pub! Interesting too to observe that the only time the Garda Síochána ever protested about anything and took to the streets was when they took a cut in their wages (jaysus, how fucking selfish is that!).

In conclusion, people have a fundamental right to attend any political fundraiser regardless of whether you agree with them or not and they should be permitted to do so freely. There are many fundraisers I disagree with, but I would never prevent anyone from attending them.

Well done to all who stood their ground - mo cheol thú!

Jaysus, this country is going to the dogs!

Hi Jacqueline!

Well said .
This particular function was incident-free until the uniformed Gardai , possibly under instruction from the political SDU , caused a scene which led to the arrest of one customer.
However , local people have contacted the organisers of the event to voice their disgust at what happened and have declared that they will make a point of attending their next function , as they will not be harassed into doing something that the State and their operatives want them to do.
And other events , in that area , will be organised !

Thanks ,

Sharon.
