Thousands are presently gathering at the gates of the School of the Americas, Ft. Benning, Georgia, USA .

On Nov 16th. 1989, El Salvadoran military graduates butchered six Jesuits (one a graduate of Milltown, Dublin) and two Salvadoran women co-workers. They bayoneted their brains out and turned a flamethrower on their library. These are a few of the victims of the tens of thousands of Latin Americans slain by graduates of the SOA

On the first anniversary (1990) Vietnam Veteran Congressional Medal of Honour winner Charlie Litkey, his brother Pat and Vietnam Veteran Fr. Roy Bourgeois were arrested pouring blood over the office entrance to the SOA. They were sentenced to a year imprisonment. Since then the movement has grown and Nov 16th. see an annual convergeance for nonviolent resistance at the SOA.

I have nothing but great respect for those protesting against this institution, which has helped foster so much suffering in my native Argentina and Uruguay, as well as throughout Latin America, teaching ruthless bastards how to kill and torture more efficiently. The SOA must be stopped.
