ThePirateBay's Latest Venture
ThePirateBay is best known for hosting trackers for distributed file-sharing and getting raided recently by the Swedish police at the behest of the US MPAA. They've been making noises about a couple of new ventures, and one of them has gone live: a completely uncensored image hosting service.
The restrictions are that files cannot be > 100MB in size, but just about any conceivable format is supported. Users are encouraged to add tags (strings of single words categorizing/indexing the content). So, this is essentially a challenger to Flickr/Picasa.
ThePirateBay are complete Free Speech fundamentalists and pledge not to censor anything at all.
Here's hoping that they're next promised project (a competitor to YouTube) takes shape soon.
