Good news for doctrinaire popularists

MoD predictions for 2035

A new ‘probability-based’ report, prepared for England’s Ministry of Defence by Rear Admiral Chris Parry, warns of the dangers to political stability which may present themselves during the 2030s. Competition for scarce resources and climate change in a context of growing population will fuel the continuing conflict in the Middle East and possibly give rise to conflict between Islam and an economically-vibrant and still-atheist China. ‘Terrorism’ will be facilitated by technological developments.

‘The middle classes, warns the admiral, ‘could become a revolutionary class, taking the role envisaged for the proletariat by Marx’. In the context of a widening gap between the middle classes and the super-rich, the ‘world's middle classes might unite, using access to knowledge, resources and skills to shape transnational processes in their own class interest’. People will increasingly seek the ‘sanctuary provided by more rigid belief systems, including religious orthodoxy and doctrinaire political ideologies, such as popularism and Marxism’.

Eunuchism and cheesy grins whilst the women gain the thermometer
and veil is just a bit to much for some of us.

ireland and probably most of northern europe is drowning in a phlegmy sea
of propriety and manners, which is nauseating.

Does everyone want to be like Cherie Blair- all political correctness
and planned families, whilst most of the Globe is dying to put the
words in her mouth and the designer shoes on her feet?

There is no culture to the middle -class, and they will destroy what
is left of this planet by insisting on the doily and the cup of tea, before
facing poverty and exclusion or the great unwashed.

These things are already happening:-' the shaping of transnational issues in their own
economic interest 'has been evident in Ireland for quite some time, where the
nominal left has quite simply given up representing the interests of the Unions.

The PPP has been wholly embraced by the 'left' to such an extent that a
new wealth community has sprung up and is built on the flimsiest of foundations
in economic terms.

The union leaders- those that are vocal and represented in mainstream media
have advocated the government and employer led partnership processes, they
have not gone out in any meaningful sense and supported the nurses claims.

David Begg offered something in the way of mediation yesterday, They are
underestimating the anger in Ireland amongst people who cannot keep up
anymore. FF answers this by widening tax-bands but real issues of
healthcare infrastructure and health/safety issues have been ignored.

The 'opposition' will only approach the hospital situation when political capital can
be made of it. Enda Kenny will walk into the Beaumont with a camera and TSk at
conditions but the grass-root problems experienced by staff including assault
are wholly ignored- which indicates the opposition are quite happy with the
IBEC and government 'furnishings' and do not intend to rock the boat if they
come to power.

People want real political change and the opposition both in Ireland and Britain
seem to be incapable of grasping the situation which is why people are turned off
politics. No-one can see a difference between Enda Kenny and Michael Mc Dowell,
it is a fluid continuation of vested interests.

Parents in the school yard say they might give the whole lot of them a kick
up the arse this time but politics are perceived largely as a load of horseshit
and nothing to do with the reality of lives.

This leads back to the issue of people who want to shape transnational
interests to their own end- quite simply its a dangerous situation when
up to 50% of the population are completely turned off politics by the
stories of incomptetence and corruption -so twits like our opposition can
saunter into power and do exactly the same as their predecessors.
