Hacker News "their friends & enemies"

category international | sci-tech | news report author Wednesday May 31, 2006 02:06author by iosaf Report this post to the editors

(1) Gary Mc Kinnon has lost his extradition case & will now be sent to the USA.
A UK court recommended last wednesday that the 40 year old unemployed Gary Mc Kinnon be extradited to face US charges of entering without password in their most secure databases to look for UFO files. that means the anglo-saxon world are the enemies of hackers

(2) the Brazilian minister of Culture, Gilberto Gil, has defended his state's internet law (which is the most tolerant in the world) and hailed hackers and creative users of the new technology at a world Internet conference which opened yesterday in Europe.
this means Brazil is still the hackers' best pal

(1)
Gary Mc Kinnon

his "crime" :-
being clever enough to guess the passwords to enter the databases of several of the USA's security service mainframe computer networks.
(thats harder than using google. its even harder than getting an indymedia ireland privelage)

his "motivation" :-
finding out about the UFO's, EBE's (extra-terrestial biological entities), how the Apollo missions were faked, proving he really is clever.

his "fear" :-
being sent to GITMO.................[ Guantanamo ]
in GITMO no-one hears you scream.
its worse than anything Sigourny Weaver ever imagined.
= support Mr Mc Kinnon. (clever computer people especially if unemployed - need our support)

(or @ least don't allow the USA to give him syphillis, LSD, PCP, Ketamine, an orange jump suit, a koran, two buckets, goggles and white noise)

(2)

Gilberto Gil

Gilberto Gil (63 years) a famed musician in Latin America accepted 3 years ago the invitation off President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's invitation to join the cabinet as minister of culture.

He began his speech yesterday at the Global Internet conference thus :-

"I, Gilberto Gil, as minister of culture of Brazil and as a musician, work every day with the impulse of the ethics of hackers," ........... "Hackers are counter-cultural militants who see in the computer a fantastic tool for communication." [He said the Internet allows good hackers] "to create permanent spaces of equality" that give them, as they pursue universal free software, strength against "the reactionary orthodoxy" controlling much of the sector.
"Hackers create innovate, solve problems and voluntarily exercise a mutual help organization,"
which he went on to explain meshes with the founding principles of the Internet.

Gil also said "the technological revolution cannot be justified in and of itself, and must be reflected in benefits for and the well-being of people."

By which he & his government continue to support open software, shareware, gnu, copyleft, & the really clever moral people who trace dodgey holiday-makers to Bangkok & don't leak the UFO stuff to you.

another pal of the hacker community might be Detective Garda who is named as a member of the team who forensically examined the hard-disc of a 41 year old Irish computer technician's OC box. The man known as Mr D-a-l-y, was verified to be compressing images of child pornography. He has received sentancing. He didn't actually do anything physically wrong, so we presume the legislation has no "l-o-o-p-h-o-l-e-s"

I personally believe that if tomorrow Brazil could offer us server and meta-search or spider search internet facilities, we would as a lumpen global counter culture militant class of sunday school anarchists move all our binary. Unfortuanately the internet since its Swiss CERN birth, has been swamped by US & to a lesser extent the general anglo-saxon world's (meaning Eire & UK) capitalist influence. Influence which combined with the peculiarities of European state database law have meant the shift in use of our wonderful tool from shared & open information to dating & commerce. I very much appreciated Minister Gilberto Gil's comments coming as they did in my home city yesterday. Here's his website :-
http://www.gilbertogil.com.br/ & yes he does have dreads. Imagine that! a government minister with dreadlocks.

Whether or not Mr Mc Kinnon found US evidence of the existence of E.B.E.'s or not, we must remember that answers are always to be found.... the truth is out there! . Just don't go looking for the truth in Uncle Sam's supercomputers. If Gary has committed any crime, it was to give those very same machines a chance to analyse his hack. I ask you again to support him. http://www.spy.org.uk/freegary/ http://freegary.org.uk/ http://science.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/05/06/124...m=rss

Brazil is one of the 5 planetary hotspots for UFO (and/or) EBE sightings or reports. Aside from the declassification of some of the former USSR's information on this very "post WW2 - 20th century story", Brazil is still the only state of "large terrestial surface area" which has completely declassified its reports.
http://www.ufo.com.br/
http://www.rense.com/general65/braz.htm It is also the only state which has declared the results of its combined scientific, biological & military investigation as something other than inconclusive

oh yes. as the ipsiphi says :-

Gary Mc Kinnon is a young man of generally nerdish type who rose to global prominence when accused in 2002 by the US defence forces of perpetrating "the greatest hack of military history" .

He on the contrary just said he was looking for proof of aliens & wanted to pierce the veil on UFO files.

Since then we've seen his case get ever more serious & be heard in ever higher courts as the threat to extradite him from his home in the UK to the USA became ever more certain. Yet there he still is over in Britain more than a year since he lost his appeal. & yesterday he got permission to take an appeal to the highest court in the UK which is the house of Lords & his legal team are also now mooting bringing his case to the European court of Human rights.

well well. stick that in a jar & lable it.

I append this latest twist to the Mc Kinnon story here because of the last years he has never enjoyed a thread all to himself. Gary has popped up on a few threads depending on what his latest news seems to counterpoint well with. Thus when in an interview he described his fears of going to Guantanamo (where no-one hears you scream) I included that titbit in a reflection on the letters written by Ahmadinajed to Bush. & today I think the best counterpoint for Gary is the news that GCHQ (the UK's eavesdropping secret service roughly equivalent to the american NSA) has decided to take the plunge in human resources recruitment which is pop up adverts in online games .

well well stick that in a jar & lable it. Now you see it, now you block it.....If you want to work in snooping emails and telephone calls in both your local Ireland & wherever the gloom of espoinage & nosiness still lie on the former British empire click this box.... if not wait a few moments and you can be Laura Croft or shoot up aliens with your mates........but wait just think about it.........you're unemployed, bit nerdy, wear an ahmadinejad jacket with allour, you're just like Gary.....you could have a job...........

He spoke exclusively to the BBC after losing the Lords' appeal today http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7533916.stm
also today's Guardian report http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2008/jul/30/gary.m...innon

He had spoken exclusively to The Guardian in 2005 http://www.guardian.co.uk/theguardian/2005/jul/09/weeke...kend2 and explained how he did what he did and what he found and mentioned how many other people were doing it too. None of them were reported as being arrested, discovered, extradited, abducted, renditioned or.....

stuck in jars & labelled.

& let's be honest Gary has been stuck in a jar and labelled for some time now for many purposes, the most important of which does not appear to be protecting US Defence computers against western geeky hackers.
