American satirist gives Bush indigestion and pause for reflection.
An American satirist has given George W. Bush a concentrated recap of some of his immoral and illegal offences. Bush was a captive audience as the speech was delivered at a dinner attended by White House press correspondants- and he was sitting two seats from the speaker.
American satirist and Colbert Report presenter Stephen Colbert gave George W. an unpleasant desert during the White House Press Corps Annual dinner last week. Colbert made remarks about various current events and the relationship between the press and the White House. He also presented a video of a mock press conference which ended in a chase scene featuring long-time correspondent Helen Thomas.
Bush was, at the very least, uncomfortable during the speech, either down to his cumberbund being too tight, or the fact that Colbert lambasted everything from the administration's efforts in Iraq to the NSA's surveillanace of the American public. Bush had no opportunity for reply, and clearly didn't like what was being said, abruptly leaving with just a nod to Colbert.
One up for the 'factinistas'!
