Patricio Cranshaw is an architect and planner who has worked with
the Nicaraguan resistance and government for over 25 years.
Trained as an architect in Madrid and Florence, he soon returned
home to throw himself into the job of attacking rural poverty
under the National Plan of the Sandinista government in the early
1980s. During the height of the Contra war against Nicaragua he
represented his government at the London Embassy, and was later
stationed at the Nicaraguan embassy in Washington. He was later
Western European Co coordinator for the Nicaragua Must Survive
Campaign. After a period with Save the Children, he is now the
Progressio national co ordinator for Nicaragua.
Patricio Cranshaw will talk about Civil Society Rights and
Participation, with an emphasis on environmental issues. Some
points to approach would be:
