Shell Pickets

category dublin | miscellaneous | event notice author Tuesday August 09, 2005 11:23author by Tim Stott - Socialist Workers Party

In response to the ongoing imprisonment of five Mayo farmers for protesting against Shell's attempts to build a dangerous pipeline the SWP, as a member of the Shelltosea campaign, is organising a picket of the Shell petrol station on the Finglas Rd in Glasnevin, D9. It will take place today (Tuesday 9th August) at 5.30pm and every Tuesday thereafter at the same time. The picket will last about one hour - the 'rush hour'.
As Shell attempt to defuse the issue whilst making no changes to their position, the pressure must be kept upon them, so that they cannot control the terms of the argument, and so that we can get five men out of prison who should not be there.
All are welcome to join the picket.

Excellent work - like to see more people/groups taking the iniative like this. I'm also going to try to get Dublin shell to sea to get behind another Dublin wide Blockade of Shell within the next 2 weeks.

Shell may think they have broken our momentum nationallly. They are so so wrong
